I guess Clinton lowered the bar for the Dems it really does not matter anymore.Sadly enough, yes. Gary Hart as much as said that when he was thinking about running for president this year. He decided not to, but in intervews, basically stated that the country has changed so much under clinton that he doesn't feel his past would hurt him.
Biden's plagerism was horrible, his blaming other people even worse, at one time, this could have ruined him, but he stayed in the senate, he knows that after clinton, his own despicable acts would seem tame.
Clinton has brought us to a new "so what" era in regards to the people we elect to represent us.

I see Biden as the equivalent of a Hail Mary pass thrown by some desperate Dem donors. The big money guys must be apoplectic when they look at the flopfest going on with the candidates they have now. Apparently, the candidate that would have universal appeal to Democrats is Saddam Hussein, judging by the anger the Dems still have, over his ouster.I've never seen Biden where he didn't appear to be smug and nasty. He has a lot of baggage-venomous towards Clarence Thomas during his confirmation hearings, against Bush bombing Afghanistan- said the US would look like " high tech bullies",notoriously rude to witnesses appearing before his committees, etc. But,he does have the prerequisite family tragedy, that the Dems always love to exploit-his first wife and baby girl were killed in a car crash in 1972 and Biden was left with 2 small sons to raise. He also has some health issues-he had a cerebral aneurysm and brain surgery in 1988 and had a long recuperation, due to post op complications.

I've never seen Biden where he didn't appear to be smug and nasty. Having dealt in the political arena in Delaware for nearly 21 years I can say you are both right and wrong.
His "national" persona is exactly as you describe. But when it comes to up close and personal he is oh so charming..............he is just so sickly sweet as to make one wish to lose her lunch. That is of course is you never read the rag that passes itself off as the major newspaper in Delaware. As far as the News Journal is concerned the (expletive deleted) can do no wrong.

It is quite a problem to decide which of the 9 or 10 RATS is the worst, but old Biden has to be among the top three or four. He's not only a libRAT, he's a stupid one too. His ridiculous performance during the Impeachment "trial' gave him away as an idiot forever.
