Democrats Losing the Battle for the "Warm Fuzzies"
GOPUSA ^ | June 2, 2003 | Bobby Eberle

Posted on 06/02/2003 12:17:47 PM PDT by Columbine

James Carville and company announced in a recent memo to the Democrat faithful that the political season is now open and it is "time to go hunting." A review of the memo shows that not only are the Democrats betting their fortunes on either the utter collapse of the economy or a major homeland security fiasco, but their analysis of current trends and public opinion is completely off the mark.

The latest memo from "Democracy Corps," the organization led by Carville, Stan Greenburg, and Bob Shrum, acknowledges that the "perception of success and strong leadership is helping the Republicans." Yet, in the very same sentence, the memo states that there has been "no shift to the Republicans, even at the high point of the President's popularity." Who are these guys kidding? Perhaps the number of people identifying themselves as Republicans has not changed, but that point is irrelevant. The only political point worth anything is how public perception translates into election results.

That is incorrect. As of now more people are self-identifying as REPS than any time in recent years anyway. I heard this on cable just last week.

Democracy Corps ranks Democrats ahead of Republicans on the economy by 45-39 percent.

This is mind boggling. The only reason for this is due to the number of naive people that think the economy IS the federal government. And that somehow because RATS understand social programs better that they are better economists.

The NBA has a bunch of coaching slots open because they figure losing teams are the coach's problem

The Dems never seem to fire their losers like Carville et al

And I hope they never learn to.

Really! She calls him the "most bitter partison" on "Meet The Press". The guy must pull a 180 when he comes home . . . or maybe she just feels sorry for him.

"perception of success and strong leadership is helping the Republicans."

Perception is reality.

LOL. Were they ever fuzzy and warm? TheBentOne did a good pied piper job as appearing as a caring guy. In the end, though, he was and is exposed as a true fraud.

Dems just need to move even further to the left. That's the ticket!

As much as I loathe the snake-eyed serpent, the man has a very few admirable traits.

He is loyal beyond anything else. The man will dance with who brung him no matter how ugly.

The man has a sense of humor. When he placed that garbage can on his head in shame in front of the country during the last elections, that was classy in a real sort of way for a talking head. A man who can laugh at himself is a good thing.

He does the best he can with what he has to work with. Can you imagine being on a steering committee for the DNC? My God!!!! Talk about trying to whip people up with the same o'l crap?, and kissing up to looney whacko tree huggers for pocket change?, and then getting death threats from the teachers unions? Not an easy job IMHO.

Great summary as to why they also "demonize" (with the leftest media's support) the other candidates/party rather than run on anything worth it's salt. They ain't got no salt!

On the issue of "homeland security," the difference is 57-17 percent for the Republicans. Even another attack on American soil is not enough to change the numbers in favor of the Democrats, for in addition to the actual attack, the Democrats would have to show that somehow they could have prevented it.

The dems are paying for their weak/non-existent support of the Iraq War in specific and the WOT in general.

In summary, the idiot factories called public schools that have been under liberal control for fifty years have provided the democrats with morons for a constituancy, only being able to think with emotions, respond to primative fears over predation, and now guilt haunted women who are hiding from their abortions.

Talk about reaping what you've sown? Their shtick made for selling papers, building government payrolls, filling news chanels, and buying votes with social spending.

BBButtt now what? Time for professional liberals to become honest or look for a new line of employment.

And for those of you who don't know the "Warm Fuzzy" phenomenon, when faced with choices in our schools, you are supposed to favor those which give you warm fuzzies.

Equally important is the identification of those who would do you harm in thought or deed. Those are called "Cold Pricklies"

They give you a special 1-800 number to contact some governmental agency to rid your life of cold pricklies. The sad reality is that when going thru life, it's better to champion those cold pricklies yourself and to have abandoned finding comfort in warm fuzzies, that is unless the warm and fuzzy is an anatomical part. Then it's OK......
