"Peterson said her son has a request, too: He wants his wife's wedding ring, another diamond ring that he bought her, and a few diamonds given to Laci by her grandmother. Peterson said the rings and gems had been taken to a jeweler for crafting into one ring.

"We want those," Peterson said. She said the Rochas picked them up from the jeweler."

The peterson family needs to shut the hell up. Their son murdered the Rochas daughter and her unborn child.

I don't blame the Rochas for "breaking in"!!!

Another humor that was sent to me:

Subject: UNDERSTANDING WOMEN

A WOMAN'S PERFECT BREAKFAST:

She's sitting at the table with her gourmet coffee. Her son is on the cover of the Wheaties box. Her daughter is on the cover of Business Week. Her boyfriend is on the cover of Playgirl. And her husband is on the back of the milk carton.

WOMEN'S REVENGE

"Cash, check or charge?" I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase. As she fumbled for her wallet I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse. "So, do you always carry your TV remote?" I asked. "No," she replied, "but my husband refused to come shopping with me, so I figured this was the most legal evil thing I could do to him."

UNDERSTANDING WOMEN

I know I'm not going to understand women. I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax, pour it onto your upper thigh, rip the hair out by the root, and still be afraid of a spider.

And finally, This is too cute not to pass on... A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up and down the aisles. The sales girl notices him and asks him if she can help him. He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife. She directs him down the correct aisle. A few minutes later, he deposits a huge bag of cotton balls and a ball of string on the counter. She says, confused, "Sir, I thought you were looking for some tampons for your wife? He answers, " You see, it's like this, yesterday, I sent my wife to the store to get me a carton of cigarettes, and she came back with a tin of tobacco and some rolling papers; cause it's sooooooooooo much cheaper.
So..... I figure if I have to roll my own ............ so does she.

Wow that's bold. If anyone watches any of the court shows, the rings given to a bride are the brides. Plus diamonds given to Laci by her grandmother?!?!
Innocent until proven guily. If this dude didn't do it, stupidity is only his second crime. Greed is the first.

It would seem that Scott is the product of an enabler.

Mother Peterson should shut up! Her son killed his pregnant wife.

If I were her family, I'd have to burn the wedding dress, and would give the jewelry to a charity. The crib and rocker could go to a women's shelter.

Because with all those diamonds, I can lure my next victim into marraige.

This is one sick puppy, this Scott and his whole enabling family and defense team. What a bunch of losers.

Peterson said she and her family bought almost everything in the baby's room, including crib, rocking chair, clothes and toys -- all baby shower gifts. Scott wanted to keep the baby's things, his mother said.

Hey Mrs. Peterson, if Scott was so concerned about Connors things, then why was Scott so eager to put the house up for sale when Laci & Connor were still considered missing??

Also ...

Jackie Peterson, Scott's mother, expressed dismay: "Yesterday we see a coroner's report about a baby, and today we're talking about salt and pepper shakers," she said by telephone from her home in San Diego County.

A baby??

That is an odd reference of her grandson

Scott wanted to keep the baby's things, his mother said.

Why? So he could sell the stuff on eBay?

Morning Rb.
With regard to the wire intercepts, below is the section Geragos refers to. He says the section states that LE must cease to intercept immediately upon determining that the call is privileged. The section states that LE must cease for a period of 2 minutes then may resume for 30 seconds. This procedure can continue until the call is no longer privileged or the communication ends.

I read the court docs on the wire intercepts and it seems that MPD did exactly what is cited in the section. MPD informed the overseeing about the privileged intercepts. Eventually the judge ordered MPD to cease completely and immediately upon determining that the calls were from/to McAllister or the PI. MPD complied and they did meter previous calls in compliance with 629.80.

***629.80. No otherwise privileged communication intercepted in
accordance with, or in violation of, the provisions of this chapter
shall lose its privileged character. When a peace officer or federal
law enforcement officer, while engaged in intercepting wire,
electronic pager, or electronic cellular telephone communications in
the manner authorized by this chapter, intercepts wire, electronic
pager, or electronic cellular telephone communications that are of a
privileged nature he or she shall immediately cease the interception
for at least two minutes. After a period of at least two minutes,
interception may be resumed for up to 30 seconds during which time
the officer shall determine if the nature of the communication is
still privileged. If still of a privileged nature, the officer shall
again cease interception for at least two minutes, after which the
officer may again resume interception for up to 30 seconds to
redetermine the nature of the communication. The officer shall
continue to go online and offline in this manner until the time that
the communication is no longer privileged or the communication ends.
The recording device shall be metered so as to authenticate upon
review that interruptions occurred as set forth in this chapter.***

Not too bad so far.

Only eleven out of twenty seven have already convicted Peterson, his family, and his little dog too.

I saw innocent until proven guilty one time.

As to a couple of references to Fox News ... if I ever decide to kill anyone I'm giving all my exclusive info to Fox - they are sure to spoil any jury pool in the country.

Morning!
Here's my take on all of this-
JACKIE wants the jewlery, probably for it's monetary value. OR it could be just plain old spite because the Rochas are not supporting her son!
As for the things Scott wants, I don't think he wants them at all. I think it's Geragos trying to make him appear more normal/human. Scott has been in the "out of sight, out of mind" mode from the beginning!"
And, I remember hearing Al Clark saying the Rochas were advised not to go into the house but " if it were me, as a mother/parent, I would go with my heart". He could never publically say, that he ok'd a "break in". I'm sure the Rochas had good legal advice on what they could or could not do.

Perhaps I'm just being petty and reacting to what seems like unnecessary animosity from the Petersons--but I say, let the Petersons have the baby furniture they say they bought. Let them have it, and look at it, and consider the actions of their son, Scott. There's nothing like an empty crib to sober one's thoughts.

Even if Scott is found innocent of the murders, he still treated Laci shabbily: having affairs with other women--especially while one's wife is expecting her first child is despicable.

Give them the darned furniture, and let them live with it every day. But they have no right to the gifts from Laci's grandmother. What gall!

The Peterson family is sure showing their true colors! I'd say that anything that belonged or was given to poor Laci is the property of her family. What was Scott going to do with the rings? Pawn them to pay for his expensive shister lawyer? I only pray that poor Laci's last few minutes were not the pure hell I think they were.

Judging from the crass and heartless attitude of the Peterson family, I think it's fair to say that the apple did not fall far from the tree.

Putting the information out is essential, Braun said, because jurors consider public opinion along with the law and evidence as they deliberate, and few panelists want to buck conventional wisdom with their verdicts.

What a sad, sad commentary on our judicial system! And what a sick commentary on the intent of an attorney.

As always, RB, thanks for the pings.
