Pardon my ignorance please, but what has Krugman done to incite the wrath of many here? (although simply working at the NY Times is more than enough provocation)

You're getting entirely too good at that.

On the other hand, hopefull there WILL be an opening in her space shortly.

I hate to be a cynic, but there will only be another lefty DNC point man taking over the reins from Raines.

Perhaps, but there are honest liberal papers (like the Washington Post) and dishonest liberal papers (like the NY Times under Raines, IMHO). I have no problem with the former, so long as there are also conservative/libertarian voices competing with them.

I am trying out for taking her place. I can make stuff up just as easily as she can.

Thanks for ramroding this treachery to its rightful conclusion.

Shucks, I wish I could say I had something to do with it.

But some things are just so egregious, so obvious, that even the NYT recognizes them (eventually).

Thanks for thinking I played a role, though. <|:)~

If things go as usual, the just-fired Liberals will pen books eviscerating The Times and leaving themselves blameless...

Commenting on one of your earlier replies, I am beginning to think we are seeing Someone's hand in all things, great and small.

Pretty much the same thing as Herbert, Dowd, Lewis, Rich, etc.: he's been a DNC talking points hitman, and a profoundly dishonest one (as if there were any other type).

Is this good or what? Now if ABC would just ditch Peter Jennings and Steponallofus......and CBS would ditch Blather.....we could really celebrate!

Well it's not Jennings or Blather .. but it still nice news

Did liberal-bashers cost Garofalo her sitcom?

The Merriam Webster guy did his best, but that's an Americanized pronunciation and isn't really correct. The Midwestern vowels sound very peculiar.

Here's a German link for pronouncing the word as it is spoken in German. Go down to "part 2", it's the 7th word:

German in English

This is always a problem with foreign words that have migrated into English. Until you've heard a rural South Georgia lawyer attempt to pronounce "voir dire", you haven't lived! Whatever it is, it sure ain't French!

And by the way, however you DO pronounce it, this is REALLY a Schadenfreude moment!
