"...their anti-Jewish sentiment..."

Indeed. Witness the Vatican's desire for an "international" Jerusalem. Born, no doubt out of twin realities: the untrustworthiness of the Muslims, who will keep all non-Muslims out; and the Vatican's obvious anti-Semitic sentiment which will not permit them to admit the excellent job the Jews have done in keeping Jerusalem open to people of all faiths.

Well, I am really done with this Church. They don't get that it is with the JEWS that the Christians share a heritage. They don't get the the Muslims want to kill us all (at least some of them do, they really, really do). And what is with this stupid Pope (yes, yes, I said it. I'm sick of him. One-saint-a-day, there are no homo child molester priests in America, time to take a trip abroad, Out of Town JPII - flame away!) who shot him? An Israeli? I don't think so.

The heck with them. I watch South Park, I know they are ruled by a giant spider queen. Smug euro-assh*les, this is all they are. Maybe we can get the Vatican to send reps for the next NAMBLA float in the gay pride parade. Fools! I'm furious (or were you getting that already?)

The ugliness of your sentiments are plain to see. Why don't you read what the Church actually says about the debt Christianity owes to the Jews, since they were the first people to inherit monotheism.

What I am sick of is people who claim they are sick of the church. This guy's not the brightest bulb in tha pack, but without some cooperation from the people directly involved in the conflict, it's not going to be solved. He's right about that.

In the Israel-Palestinian deal there's over 50 years of BOTH sides breaking trusts. Both sides have gone back on their word. Neither has a great track record. That needs to change.

As for the scandal, this is more of a purge than anything and frankly, this pope finally has some control over the hierarchy, once a couple big name liberals were out of office either by death or resignation. Just remember the church does not belong to men. It belongs to God. There are men in it who are sinners. We must pray for them.

And tell me again just exactly what is appealing about South Park?

More brain-dead political perspective from the Vatican.

In a freewheeling reflection on Christianity and Islam, Sodano acknowledged that the Arab world is a "little unknown to us,"

I'd say more than a little, given the universal silence on human rights abuses in Muslim nations from Rome. It's very hard for me to defend the Church against charges of bias against Israel, and all that that implies.

I wonder if the Pope is even running the show these days.(not that I'm excusing anything) Seem like I hear statements made that are supposed to be from the Pope, but it looks as if he's not really all there any more.
