Cusack Attacks Michael Moore
IMDB.com ^ | 6-10-03

Hollywood star John Cusack has attacked filmmaker Michael Moore for failing to support the Democratic party in the last American presidential elections. Moore, who won the Best Documentary Oscar at this year's Academy Awards for his anti-gun film Bowling For Columbine, threw his backing behind left-wing candidate Ralph Nader in the 2000 elections - but Cusack believes that he should have joined him in tactical support of Democratic candidate Al Gore instead - to ensure Republican George W. Bush was beaten. Cusack explains, "He lost a lot of credibility when he went and campaigned for Ralph Nader because he was dead wrong when it counted. I'm not a huge fan of the Democratic party, but I knew there was a huge difference between them and the Bush crowd. Don't tell me Al Gore would have handed out the contract to rebuild Iraq before he'd given the order to bomb it."

It's no wonder that John Cusack portrays such losers on the screen. He's just going with what he knows.

I saw the headline and thought, "Wow, Cusack's not a leftie?"

But then I read the story and, WOW! He's attacking Moore from the left!

How can anyone publicly admit that he supported Al Gore? Cusack is a loser.

Yea, but he still plays the wimpy romantic lead in those sappy flicks, only now he looks old and lined and miscast. But at least his heart is in the right place.

Cusak hasn't made anything decent since "Midnight In The Garden Of Good & Evil" (one of my favorites)...

Figures.

The guy is a great actor. One of my favorites. It pains me to see that he's so a)activist, and b) liberal.

Actors should act and shut up. Let them write checks if they want, but when it comes to politics, my answer in his shoes would be, "Who cares what I think about anything? I entertain people." His agent should put his or her foot in his rectal cavity.

It's one of the trappings of the trade. You create illusions - why screw that up with anything resembling reality? Let your bankbook say everything you shouldn't.

Serendipity was ok. For a chick flick I guess.

I liked Grosse Point Blank.

I mean cmon, an international assasin tries to come back to his hometown and be a normal citizen by going to his reunion? I thought it was pretty funny. I had to just suck it up because John Cusack was in it.

He would have if he were smart about it. Why delay the rebuild, unless you hate women and children, et al....

Cusack is a f-ing moron. Period.

I remember a year or two back when he did some interview where he was raving about Bush and Cheney being "crypto-fascists".

Yeah, right. As if Johnny even knows what "crypto-fascist" means. He probably overheard it at one of his trendy, lefty, Hollywood gigs and thought it sounded cool.

I remember reading how he used the term in the interview and thinking, at the time, "it's like he was looking for an opportunity to use this phrase and couldn't resist using it even when it didn't really fit the context".

After that, it was all over. I used to like a few of his movies, but I dumped 'em. I liked "Grosse Point Blank" but refuse to buy it on DVD, now, because of him. I also didn't go see "Identity" because he was in it.

I have a serious "Hollywood Idiot" boycott going on. I've been able to resist going to any movie that stars or co-stars any of the lefty idiots I hate. The only exception I'll make this year is "Return of the King" even though Viggo Mortensen and Andy Serkis are psycho-lefties.

No more of my money is going to support these leftist Hollywood traitors. No more.

Cusack, Robbins, Susan Saranwrap, Ellen Degenerate, Harrison Ford, George Clooney, Janeane Garofalo, Danny Glover, all of them. No more. I check "hollywood-halfwits.com" regularly to see who else I can check off my list.

Serendipity stunk.

The guy who played his best pal was the best thing about the movie.

Actors should act and shut up.

You're right. The actors I hold in highest esteem are those who, in response to a political question say, "Oh, what do I know? I'm just an actor." This was what Andie McDowell said on the Tonight Show once, and she is one of the few actresses whose movies I will still see. My need for entertainment is not strong enough for me to endure a movie with the likes of John Cusack, Sean Penn, Julia Roberts, etc, etc....

Mega-dittoes!! These losers make $20 million a picture and they have nothing better to do than to whine about the policies of an administration that most Americans agree with.

I loved Daniel Day-Lewis' reply when a reporter asked him about the Iraq war: "If I said I was against it (the war), you'd write another story saying how I'm just another actor being opposed to the war. So my opinion is irrelevant."
