I think this is "old news" from Saturday.

Please be assured. The White House, the CIA, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff are watching this minute by minute.

According to sources in IRAN:
This just in...
We are hearing of a MASSIVE protest against the Iranian regime is being organized for Sunday evening in Iran, June 13, 2003.
We are hearing of entire families, neighborhoods planning on attending. Even those frightened by the regime in the past as planning to join the protest tonight.
It is expected to be HUGE!
We are hearing from people in Tehran who are telling us the story directly.
I have never heard such excitement before.
We are hearing that the people are making crosses to carry with them in the protests...
They want the crosses to symbolize they are being slaughtered as Christ was slaughtered.
Whole families are going to join the protest: babies, mothers, children.... the entire families.
More to come....
I am hearing of people going to church right now... They are the ones who plan on carrying crosses.
This must happen for the regime to callapse. It make take more than this, but is building FAST!
We are hearing that once the people heard President Bush supported their efforts everyone was encouraged and it has helped people to decide to join the protests.

Re #60
Yes, let both mullahs and their opposition know that this time around the opposition really have something to fall back on, even if mullahs try to kill all of them. Mullahs would have a real tough time to crack down on protesters, if American troops are on stand-by next door in Iraq and in possession of all those surplus arms from Saddam's regime.
The situation is completely different from Tienanmen Sqaure uprising. The brutal quelling of protest won't be the end of the story. On the contrary, it will make things much worse for mullahs. That is, Bush could come in and clean their clock, one way or the other.

And we're not just in Iraq... we're also in Afghanistan.

WHAT?!?!? You have got to play that down!!!!!!!!!
That is incredibly irresposible. He or the USA has in no such manner supported any of this. These people are doing this all on their own. Iranians know what is good for Iran.

Oh, they have daylight savings time too!
Thanks, I'll bookmark that site.
The GMT site I found gave things relative to standard time, and I knew about the US DST, but not the Iranian one.

Are Iranians using cell phones and instant messaging to communicate plans rapidly? Can you mention anything you have heard about this?
Instant messaging has been important in arranging "instant" mass demonstrations in the Philippines and elsewhere.
A government may suppress the news accounts, but it no longer critical, because the news (and plans) can be sent via instant message from one person to ten to a thousand to a million in a few minutes.
Have you heard of this happening in Iran?

"Are Iranians using cell phones and instant messaging to communicate plans rapidly?"
I wonder if they even have cell phones.
In Iraq they had no infrastructure for cell phones at all. I don't know and wonder if they have it in Iran. I kind of doubt it.

Don't we have enough?
Will the Iranian military kill Iranian students in the streets, if it came to that?
The US military need not become directly involved, at first blood. The fact that we have assets in the area is enough to strengthen the resolve of those who wish regime change. We do not know what the US has in the area, or in-country. This administration has not been one to blab and broadcast any covert support or operational capability. What you don't see is more important than what you do see.

OOPS. I hate it when that happens. Thanks for the catch.
