A MESSAGE FROM THE RECALL GRAY DAVIS COMMITTEE
SPECIAL CITIZENS UPDATE from Citizens Lobby
http://www.citizenslobby.com/gdavis.htm
The Honorable Howard Kaloogian, Chairman
http://www.RecallGrayDavis.com
Dear Friends & Supporters of the Recall:
We are about to begin the most important and exciting phase of the Recall Gray Davis effort. We are preparing to launch a statewide paid radio-advertising campaign that will spread word of the recall effort to the greater public and encourage all Californians to download and sign the Recall Gray Davis petition.
As we surpass 600,000 signatures collected for the recall effort thus far, we have sent a shock wave throughout the political world - not just in California, but also throughout the nation.
Our weekly signature collection tallies are rising so fast that the political establishment has taken notice and begun to react in a hostile and aggressive manner.

I'm not from California, but went to the link and contributed $25. It'll feel great if and when Davis is dumped!

Thanks GLGB!
California thanks you!

Dumping Davis will be viewed as a mistake this time next year.
Why? Because now in 2003, Democratic party controlled CA is in economic turmoil, businesses are leaving, and a $38 billion deficit must be closed.
If the recall goes through, there will be a GOP Governor next year, the state will still be in economic turmoil, businesses will still be leaving, and maybe payments will start on the previous year's $38 billion deficit.
Does anyone think the lamestream media will have any problem blaming CA woes entirely on the GOP?
Say adios to dozens of electoral votes for Bush.

Or it would serve as a quick kick to the hindquarters of the remaining demos in the capitol that they'll be next in the cross hairs if they don't do their job and stop the overspending.

Say adios to dozens of electoral votes for Bush. Bush recieved exactly 0 California electoral votes in the 2000 election. Keeping davis won't change that.

Please! First of all, it is not a lock in any way, shape, or form, that the GOP will win the spot. Second, almost no-one is going to blame the fiscal mess on the new GOP governor.
Are you a political newbie?

Say adios to dozens of electoral votes for Bush.
You cant say adios to something that never existed.
Besides, there is absolutely no guarantee that Davis will be replaced by a Republican.

I'm not so sure. Keeping a wounded (about a 23% state approval rating?) Dufus to kick around in 2004 may be just the ticket to electoral vote nirvana. The entire CA mess is at the feet of an entirely 'rat government. Why not let them make the hard choices and anger the very electorate they tried to buy off with socialist programs?
I suppose my main point is that why offer the lefty establishment the opportunity to blame the GOP for the state's problems.

We need SO MANY MORE signatures! When verification of signatures is done, a huge percentage of them may be disallowed -- if the signer isn't a registered voter, if the voter's address on the petition doesn't match the records (for example, if someone has moved but not changed registration), if it looks like there are duplicate signatures. In order to get the number required to be placed on a ballot, we should aim for about 25% more signatures than required -- just for wiggle room. Is there an organized effort for people to monitor the verification process?

No intention to screw people. Californians and many illegals I imagine got the government they voted for. A non-Davis GOP governor will have zero luck pushing common sense legislation through the dim legislature. But he will get all the blame if the economy does not improve.

True enough, there is no guarantee. CA could end up with Pat Paulsen or Oprah for governor.

Say adios to dozens of electoral votes for Bush... How do you say adios to something you never had? Expecting Bush to carry CA is about as likely as NY or MA. Anyone trying to link Bush to CA's self inflicted economic issues is someone who is so far on the other side they are unreachable anyway.
The key to CA is getting close enough to make the Dems sweat. Make enough noise and enough visits to make them spend money and time preaching to the choir!

The recall process has a whole bunch of possible outcomes, and most of them are bad for conservatives. I think they should have left well enough alone.

Other people are concerned because of the saying about the rest of the nation going as CA goes. Your state is the economic bull in the china shop. A recession plagued CA would subtract a large portion of the overall US growth.

Say adios to dozens of electoral votes for Bush.He probably wouldn't have got them here anyway. And besides he doesn't need them. He won without winning California last time and he will do it again. More states will go for Bush then did in the last election.
