It is phenomenal to me how the left just eats up Moore's crapola without a thought.

I think Moore and his ilk represent the left's last great hope, much the same the kamakazi did for the Japanese in WWII. The left is ideologically bankrupt, has no intellectual arguements for their ideology and in the midst of being torn to shreds by a lean, mean conservative army. Along comes Moore to throw something - anything - at us in the hopes of taking us down. He'll fall eventually, but not until he puts up a fight.

Huh?

It's one of those universal Latin language building blocks (document, circumfrence, for instance) which means "and also", or "together", or in this sense "double role", wearing two hats.

"This is why the libs hate talk radio and the internet."

How do you mean by that? We all know who invented the internet.

Thanks for the etymology lesson, but I know what the words mean. I guess I did not make it clear that I was responding to the concept in the description, i.e., "most infuential". Where is that fat pig influential outside his circle of fellow morons?

...the most influential performer-cum-activist of our times...

He called W a "fictitious" president while he collected a Best Documentary Oscar for his FICTITIOUS waste of celluloid.

Another fine example on the hypocrisy of the left.

A bestselling author on both sides of the Atlantic, Moore can lay claim to being the most influential performer-cum-activist of our times.

If he's the best they've got to offer, then there's nothing for Americans to worry about. What a butt-kissing thing to say, LOL! ..."most influential performer-cum-activist of our times", indeed. LOL!

The reception Moore received for his rant at the Acadamy Awards was the shot to the head of his career. He can still cater to the fringe losers who lap his kind of politics up, but the Great Middle will NEVER take the guy seriously.

To the rest he'll forever be the fat unshaven idiot that got dissed on worldwide television.

At his live show in London last year, which I reviewed, he built an entire segment around his argument — presented not as satire, but as a straight-faced statement of fact — that, if all the hijack victims on September 11 had been black, they would have fought back. Moore argued that, because the passengers were pampered members of the bourgeoisie, accustomed to being waited on at every turn, they did not know how to defend themselves. Now, it takes only a second to realise that there is an obvious flaw in this: we know that once the passengers on the third plane heard about the attacks on the twin towers, they rose up and fought their hijackers.

I guess Moore is too dumb to realise the libertarian answer to his criticism which is that if it wasn't for all the stupid gun laws in North Eastern US states, then the 9/11 victims would have easily repelled the Al Qaeda scumbags. The statist philosophy basically guarantees that a bunch of morally bankrupt psychopaths armed with basic improvised weapons can inflict massive casualties on any obedient, law-abiding, disarmed population.

Besides, Moore is a sicko for criticising the people who died on the hijacked planes, even if he wasn't serious. Anyone think he would have done anything to stop the hijackers? Personally, I think he'd want someone else to deal with them; like most statists/socialists would.

i know that a lot of things he uses are not 100 % correct.
i know as well the next thing you guys will blame me is an "america hater". anyway. i saw a lot more than probl you guys in the world. and i had some fruitful discussions with US americans, other americans (why you userally refer of US is america?), europeans (well i m one), asians (i lived there quite lont), russians and australians.
i made quite good friends which ppl all over the world (including US-americans). but one thing i found, as that you guys use to simplify things extreamly, and watching your mass media, i get the idea that the average american is not able to understand things if the are presented in a correct/neat manner. just you are not used to it. (i m scientist, so i know that kind of problem, as like i need sometimes to explain facts to non-scientists and it is simply not possible without simplifying/changing the facts a little).

so what i wanna say (as well in a simplifies version), is that no matter if you agree or disagree with what he brings in his books and his movie, you need to understand that he brings it in a format which most ppl understand easily. you know even in very serious magazines, or scientific article, you can find one or to detail which are not 100% correct. but thats just not the point, as long it is not changing the message. i wouldnt really consider what he does as a scientific research or something, but more about that he wanna present his worries (which i understand, coz after seeing the world, my conclusion was that no place (in the developed world) is more difficult to stand (in terms of living quality/standart) than US. part of the reason is you high crime rate, low standart in the health-system, high unemployment rate (though the last thing is not only a US problem i admit) and quite serious pollution (go to tokyo a huge city, but still the air is much better than in your cities ...).
i dont hope i was "insulting" your patriotic feelings. but still i think some of you guys should have a bit a "deeper refelction" on what is going on in your own country.
