Going “Toe-to-Toe” with The Organized Left Michigan CSE protests Senator Levin’s blocking of judicial nominees

Brighton, MI - The powerful Union forces of the organized left were in for shock when they encountered a highly organized and well-poised group of CSE activists at an annual event featuring U.S. Senator Carl Levin (D-MI). The Michigan Chapter of CSE turned out the troops to demonstrate opposition to Levin’s blocking of the federal judicial nominations made by President Bush.

The rally was headed by Steve Williams, a Michigan CSE Volunteer Chapter Leader (VCL). At a moments notice, Steve was able to mobilize the local chapter and turn out a dedicated bunch of CSE activists to counter Union opposition and speak out in favor of judicial nominees with responsible, free-market backgrounds.

According to Williams, “Chief Justice Rehnquist has complained that the slow pace of judicial appointments is impeding justice, and we’re here to help speed up the process. It is important to have a good, stable constructionist judiciary to have a good economic climate. We need judges who respect the private sector and property rights, and we need them in place now. We want to make sure Senator Levin gets that message.”

The protest was interrupted by Union representatives who resented the CSE led demonstration. But while leftist Union forces accosted protesters and engaged in verbal and physical threats in an effort to intimidate them, CSE activists proudly stood their ground in the name of lower taxes, less government, and more freedom.

Centered around a popular issue on a national scale, the event caught the attention of numerous local media outlets including WHMI radio, The Livingston County Press & Argus and The Ann Arbor News eager to hear CSE’s argument in the debate surrounding Bush’s judicial nominations.

There's all of us right there.

That's mild mannered Steve Williams giving an interview. He ran for state rep in 02 until he was called up to serve our country. He's a good guy and has my vote if he runs in 08.

There's the union thugs. The guy with the hand in the camera is the bigmouth that threatened us. Notice the muscle behind him in a tank top? This was a dem fundraiser for Carl Lenin. Don't people usually wear suits and ties to these events? Think about his role...

There are a few more pics at the link above.

"That's the whole point, and he was QUIET, too. That tells me he probably can fight"

You may be right, but it looks like the same old union tactic of intimidation.. It was no accident that he dressed the way he did, his quiet demeanor, it's what he was told to do..

His appearance simply fits the stereotypical "tough guy" image, shaved head, black sunglasses, sleveless "Harley Davidson" t-shirt etc.. Geez, unions are so predictable because they are so redundant..

I do commend all of you for your efforts, you were able to get your(our) message out under a threat of intimidation, and possibly violence.. Not the easiest job..

I can assure you, there are a lot more "union thugs" on your side than you would think..

There are a lot of union MEMBERS on our side. Not all members are union thugs. My dad was a union member.

Democrats will do anything to get back the power they no longer deserve. To them, no price is too high. They would destroy America so they could be in charge.

This is why you need as many cameras as possible. Thug-boy can only put his hand in front of one. Meanwhile, three or four others catch his mangy (democrat) in the act.

I still like the idea of fake wanted posters, for "intimidation" or some such thing, posted in prominent locations. The post office with the real ones if you can get away with it. The "yippies" used this tactic against informers and some of the posters stayed up for years.

Here in Wisconsin it's usually the Firefighters' Union who provides thuggery and disorderly conduct for Democratic candidates.

Apparently the Carpenters' Union national leadership is even more leftist than the AFL-CIO (from which they have withdrawn.)

You must have some iron-pumping former Marine / Seal / SpecOps types out there somewhere who are on our side of the issues and might be willing to attend such affairs as the strong, silent type - don't you?

Two can play that game, if they want to call it that way.

They play politics; we play politics. They write; we write.
they call; we call. They get tough, we'd better be prepared to get tougher.
They haul out the hardware and go tactical...

Lock and load.

I do this...not for a living but for "beer money" (beer the nights I'm not working that is). It's not a bad idea, but image is more important than actual "toughness". Image and the ability to stay calm until the clinton actually impacts the fan. Demonstrations are PR, more than anything else. Image is critical.

You want an actual "security" squad, not an intimidation team like the lefties (and low class bars that inevitably devolve into punch palaces) do it. Think "Steve" on the Jerry Springer show or "Dalton" in Roadhouse.

Off duty cops (out of uniform but carrying badges*) would be best. In public places they are the only ones who can take sides, yet have the presumption of authority a "bouncer" has in a bar.

To our friends at DU that are reading this.
Yep. We got 20, despite tornadoes in the county. And no, we wern't 100%, LIKE THE DEMS WERE. Someone needs some new glasses. We had more diversity there than the dems.

The dems had 75-100 at their big FUNDRAISER. This was the super bowl for the county dem party. At least 10 of them were out of county. Every single one of us there was from our county. They also had to share the news there with us. Mission acclompished.

As for the GOP fundraisers here. Our party pulls 250-300 every single time. 75 or 100 people for us is a dismal failure.

And lastly, Livingston County gave every single one of your dems a defeat! Congratulations, losers, not even Carl Lenin won here.

The very concept of unionism is socialist and anti-American. Unions are about groups, not individuals. Collective-bargaining laws are a rape of freedom. Unionism is intellectually bankrupt and relies on coercion and intimidation.

The National Labor Relations Act should be repealed. If people want to "organize," fine -- that's their right. But they should not thus be given special protection by legislation that strips rights away from others.

Unions are the antithesis of the American ideal.

To me that's unusual that the union thugs could get up close to you like that. When we've FReeped the Marxists here in Louisville the police have always been out in force. We've always coordinated with them and expressly informed them that we won't cross the street so long as the Marxists stay on their side as well. I don't know what your lead time before this FReep was but surely you could have had some police out there to keep the two groups seperated. Would the thugs have tried to acost you by going thruogh the cops? Hardly. Not trying to pick an aregument...I'm just curious. Still an excellent FReep though.

The police came right after that happened and were on their way. It calmed down then. 4 different departments. Green Oak Township(where this was), the State Police Brighton City(neighboring dept), and even the DNR!(Game officers - don't mess with them)

There was a pic of all the cop cars, but it wasn't online.
