If they want to energize the Southern White Middle Class, many of whom don't vote on a regular basis, just let Je$$e get involved in a big way down here. Their won't be any Democrats representing anyone outside predominately black districts. The Repubs will have such a large majority until they will be able to, and likely feel pressure to, directly challenge things like affirmative action and illigal aliens head on and out in the open.
