Such poor preparation is inexcusable in my opinion. Arkansas is ripe for the picking: Blanche Lincoln is a 'rat that can be beaten, given the Republican bent of the electorate there. Hutchinson self-destructed in the last election cycle, and the result is a BUSH STATE with two 'rat Senators: like the Dakotas, this MUST NOT STAND.

Please, Arkansas Republicans, get it together and find a replacement for that whinin' Sin-ator Lincoln.

I saw her on the Senate floor today, twang and all, and I'm thinking, "How nice it would be for Blanche to be out of a job in 2005."

The same could be said for the senate races in Washington, California, New York, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Indiana. Outside of the South, candidate recruiting is looking terrible for Republicans in the 2004 senate races. If Thune and Gibbons don't run in SD and NV our only hope of picking up seats may be in the 4 contiguous southern states.

And I've provided the facts. But this is what it really boils down to. Do you believe the citizens of a respective state have the right to elect who they want without outside interference from the national government or national organizations? If so, you believe in the intent of the Founders. If not, you believe in the questionable acts done by both parties every day

Is it just me or does Andy Lee remind you at all of former Rep. Tommy Robinson?

Robinson was a character. It's too bad he received no support last year in his race against Marion Berry, though I think he is considered a nuisance now.

Key words, "so far". North Carolina is a beautiful state, but it "cannot change a leopard's stripes".

Jay Dickey also bombed out in his rematch with Ross.

Who interfered in North Carolina's right to vote for who they want?

We had several good candidates in this state that have lived in this state and knew the concerns of the citizens of this state. However, the RNC 'decided' that we needed someone to run against Erskine Bowles. Mind you the Democrats are no better at it. Four months before the primaries it was practically decided by the major news organizations that Dole had won. Signs for the two 'local' candidates showed up less and by primary day, Liddy won something like 80% of the Republican vote. Of course, don't mind the Wal Mart mailer that went out statewide with her face on the front with the message 'Elizabeth Dole wants you to read this'. Mind you the mailer was about education but we're talking about voters. Most wouldn't bother even opening it up to see what it was about

"Robinson was a character."

You got that right.

"It's too bad he received no support last year in his race against Marion Berry"

It probably would have been a waste of cash. Frankly, Mr. Robinson reminds me of Harold Stassen: a has been who refuses to acknowledge he had his fifteen minutes, and their up.

"though I think he is considered a nuisance now."

If he has to run for office, let him run for sheriff. He had some of his best days there. :-)

God, I get so sick of people like this sometimes. Perhaps you would have rather had Bowles in there? Bush cleared the field because Dole would win. Period. He knew she would, and she did. We now control the senate. Would you have rather we run one of those 'better' candidates and have us not control the Senate?

He wasn't running in the same seat he represented (he initially served in the Little Rock seat), since he has moved out to rural Eastern AR. I'm not sure he would've done much better against Snyder had he run there.

Well I get sick of compromise too. Your point?

Perhaps you would have rather had Bowles in there? Bush cleared the field because Dole would win. Period. He knew she would, and she did

Maybe you could point out to me anywhere in the Constitution or in the writings of the men that were influential in founding this nation where national politics is supposed to have an influence on who is and is not elected within a state. Last time I checked, the original intent was for Senators to represent the motives of their state

We now control the senate. Would you have rather we run one of those 'better' candidates and have us not control the Senate?

Boy howdy do 'we' control it. Heck, we'll have another government boondoggle (nationalized healthcare) through quicker than you can say conservative. Man I'm so glad the 'conservatives' are in control. What say we just go ahead and round up all the Assault Weapons while we're at it, eh? Liddy doesn't like them either and since she's a 'conservative' we should all do what she says right? BTW, do you live in this state? Because if you don't, and listen reeaaalll clear now, it's none of your business who we do and do not elect to represent the interests of the people of the sovereign state of North Carolina

Run Asa Run!

Freepers, rather than waiting to see what happens with Estrada, we need to take the lead. That means presuring Senators, special interest groups, media organizations, etc. This thread is meant to be an ongoing effort to get this man confirmed. For too many years liberals have had their way on the courts. Now, President Bush is in a position to move the courts to the right. The election of '02 showed that the country is with the President. I think it's time to let Daschle, Hillary, and Pelosi know this is Bush country. Are you with me! Let's FREEP these people.
