WASHINGTON (CNN) --The CIA has in its hands the critical parts of a key piece of Iraqi nuclear technology -- parts needed to develop a bomb program -- that were dug up in a back yard in Baghdad, CNN has learned.

These aren't cow college centrifuges, weapons enrichment centrifuges have a certain malicious look to them.

Hey! Why are you jumping all over him? He clearly noted that it was a picture of a lab centrifuge in his caption.

Because the entire discussion is about gas centrifuges.

"-a centrifuge can't kill anybody, this is ridiculous, it was probably used to make fertilizer "

Who says centrifuges aren't dangerous?

if anything it is proof that Iraq didn't have an active program at the time of the second gulf war, because if they didn't they wouldn't have left the stuff to rot in a guys back yard

OK, I'll bite, are you Kerry or Dean?

Dude the significance of the find is the documentation to construct, maintain and make use of gas centrifuges for enriching uranium.

What he said was 'The thing in the middle is a labratory gas centrifuge'.

I dunno, when I first saw the picture, I thought it kinda looked like a cow milking machine. (Really!)

Amazing how things tie together.

DUmmies are saying that: 1) it was planted;

I wonder when, or even if, any of them will figure out that if it was planted, the story would definitely not be that it's been buried since 1991.

I don't think there are not too many places where you can pick up this type of equipment.

Be interesting to see if we can determine where and how they got it.

Funny how people cry that we haven't found anything in Iraq and yet when we DO find something, they say "Well, that's not good enough! Bush lied...I'm voting for someone else, etc". For some people you could rub their noses in it, literally, and they would find another reason(s) to downplay what has been found.

For Bush haters, this is the most significant part of the story

"The U.S. government told CNN the security and safety issues have been dealt with and there is no risk now in telling the story fully."

Here's a question that escapes me. At the start of the Manhattan Project they were looking at three ways of enriching Uranium; centrifuge, gas diffusion, and one other. I can't recall the third method. Anyone remember? And are any of the other enrichment methods still viable?

Actually, since we claimed that they had an ACTIVE nuke program, this find is just a bust if it turns out it's something that hasn't been usable since '91. I'm going to hold my breath on this one, seeing how the many other finds haven't panned out well.
