(I don't get the P.S.) The '04 GOP Convention is so late in the year that it is past the filing deadline for many states.... meaning the Republican Party will not have a legally nominated candidate when the deadlines pass. Shelley apparently pulled some strings to ease that deadline for Bush.

Hm. That's a little weird. I guess all that needs to happen is for the state's GOP leadership to say this is our guy, get the signatures or whatever? The actual convention is just the pep rally anyway isn't it?
