Help Me Fight The "Slandering" of Ann Coulter's New Book, "Treason" on Amazon
Today | Paul Klenk

Posted on 06/26/2003 10:20:38 PM PDT by paulklenk

As many of you know, Ann Coulter's new book "Treason" has jumped to number 2 on Amazon's Best Seller list.

However, those who hate Coulter and what she stands for are attacking her book, by using the "recommendations" feature at Amazon. "Mein Kampf" and "Big Lies: Right Wing Propaganda" are the only two choices being offered as recommendations. Of course, this is a nasty bit of slander against Ann.

Here is a link to Treason's page at Amazon.

There are two things you can do to help quash this effort:

1. Recommend another book. If we all start off by recommending the same book, it has a good chance of showing up. Feel free to recommend your own, too, but don't fail to recommend OUR choice: USE THE FOLLOWING ISBN NUMBER to make sure we are recommending the same item: 1400046610, which is Ann's book Slander. If you can come up with a better title, post the title and the ISBN number here so the rest of us can follow suit.

2. Let Amazon know that the other recommedations are inappropriate. Under the book recommendations, there is a link which says "Let us know if any of these recommendations are inappropriate." Follow that link and click "no" next the appropriate title, starting with "Mein Kampf."

Freep away in mass quantities, folks, and make me proud. You may run into some technical difficulties along the way. If you do, report back here and let's see if we can't share the solutions as well.

WHY?

The best anecdote is purchase power.

Buy the book. Or don't buy the book.

Ann Coulter, I'm sure gives a Sh!t about who is writing about her on Amazon.

If it was effecting her sales adversely her publishing company would be ghost writing good reviews on her behalf on the site.

Uh, don't people around here encourage the same actions when a liberal book is the subject?

Good point; but you won't be making Ann feel better, you'll be making ME feel better.

Thanks for playing.

Done!

BTW, did everyone notice that Amazon has reduced the price of Hitlery's fiction? It's now 40% off, not 30% as it was yesterday!

Yes, they do, and we can play both sides of that game -- promoting good books, and demoting bad ones.

Let's get busy and play.

I did what you suggested. I was looking for a place to email Amazon themselves to alert them to this inappropriate garbage on the site, but so far can't find a way to do it. I hope these useless idiots realize that the Hitler books would be best compared to Hillary before it is too late. Fat chance! The woman is not a democrat, she is an outright Marxist.

I am happy to do this and believe others should too.

For me, here's the number I have been using as a recomendation either in addition to, or as a replacement:

0971577919

That's for my Dragon's Fury Series, Volume I which also sells on Amazon.

Although its fiction, it portrays most, if not all, of the characteristics in Ann's book that are bringing us down as a Republic and where they ulitamtely lead...and therefore is a good match.

I went over and wrote a note to the Amazon staff.

I basicly stated that Ann Coulter documented events during the Clinton years, and her book should be challenged on the merits rather than slandering her.

I stated that the person who suggested a like book would be "Mein Kamf" was acually calling Ms. Coulter Hitler and I found that highly inappropriate. I asked them to have their staff clean up the "Treason:..." page.

``Good point; but you won't be making Ann feel better, you'll be making ME feel better.
''

Sorry, can't be doin' with this.
Not that I don't want you to feel great and all. But if you really feel affronted by how good or bad Ann Coulters book sales are you need to talk to someone more qualified than I.

Actually, the best way to do this is to use the voting system as I've described. Amazon does have another feedback feature, but it extremely hard to find. There are just too many books out there for them to have to answer mail about it.

I know this because I complained to Amazon -- months ago -- that OUR negative recommendations for Hillary's book had been removed from the page completely. They actually replied, and -- just justifiably -- informed me that their decision to remove them was because Hillary's book had not been published yet, and in fairness people should have a chance to read it before commenting on it.

Speaking of which, Ann Coulter made a funny remark about Hillary's book in a recent interview. She said she was waiting for a couple of weeks to comment on it, so as to give Hillary a bit of time to actually read it.

``Yes, they do, and we can play both sides of that game -- promoting good books, and demoting bad ones. ''

Incidentally, I prefer to read a book before I decide on whether it's good or bad.

In our local Kroger store yesterday (Thursday), Hillary's book was also discounted to 40% OFF. Goes to prove that you can find a good chuckle just about anywhere!
