Presumably, because they had only managed to find ways to gain control and reprogram the older "Arnold" model, but not been able to successfully "hack into" the more advanced models. So the Arnold model was all the human rebels had to work with.

The part that really had me chortling mad was the fact that that T-101 they sent back to rescue J. Connor in T3 was the one that killed him in the future! In the movie it (AHHH-Nold) says that he was programmed as an assasination droid, and the reason they used the T-101 model was because John Connor (the grown-up rebel leader from the future) would remember it from his childhood memories (after all in T-2 it did rescue him) and hence it would have a better chance of assasinating him.

And it did ......it killed him. And was sent back by his future wife (the lady who is with J.Connor) and that is why it only obeys her orders.

The funniest part is when it (the T-101) is holding up the blast doors for the J.Connor and the lady to enter into the fall-out shelter, and Connor turns to it and says thanks and i will miss you (or something along those lines) .....and then the 'bot says 'we will meet again."

Made me laugh myself silly ......since obviously it is referring to them meeting in the future (and the 'bot killing him).

Although my question is this .......sicne connor knows his death is going to be caused by the T-101 would he not take extra precautions not to let any near him (it owuld still have the same face in order to, as the movie says, "take advantage of his childhood memories").

And if he takes the precautions and is, consequently, not killed ......they will not be able to capture the 'bot and reprogram it, and hence will not be able to send it back to the past to rescue J.Connor and the lady!

Hmmmm?!?!?!?!

Instead of T-101 i should have said T-800.
Mea culpa!

All great questions. The ultimate question I have is this: If Kyle, John Connor's father from T1, is sent back in time to protect Sarah Conner, gets her pregnant and dies 'back in time', then how can he exist in the future to be sent back? And if he doesn't exist in the future, then there really can be no way John Connor is conceived. Things that make you go hmmmm......

I saw this movie over the weekend and loved it. I was going in with really low expectations because I didn't want to be disappointed like I was at Matrix Reloaded...but T3 was great! I nearly went and plopped down another 7 bucks to see it again. The stunts were incredible and it ended just like it should have ended.
