If we decide this is inevitable, we should move to plan B: make it law that drivers licenses aren't proof enough for voting.

Handing people drivers licenses doesn't make them automatically better drivers. It's true that many never got behind a wheel of a car until the came over but if they never had drivers ed, what difference does the drivers license make. They're going to drive either way obviously ----with or without one just like they do now. It's obvious they want the drivers license because they can travel freely with that, all states will recognize them as legitimate residents of California and a drivers license can get them back and forth across the border because that's what proves US residency at the border check points.

If anything ---just let the police accept their Mexican drivers licenses. That is done all along the border ---- you can drive into Mexico with a US license, they don't hand you a Mexican license. They can use their Mexican licenses here too.

I honestly don't understand how anyone could think this would make the illegals' driving safer. No one honestly thinks they'll actually carry insurance, either, right?

They'll go to someplace where they can buy it by the month, buy one month's worth of insurance and cancel the policy. One month's worth will get them the "proof of insurance" card, and that's all they want.

Actually, maybe that's the next step in document fraud.

Well, we could at least check their IDs before they drink and drive.

"California's Assembly Transportation Committee approved a bill yesterday that would allow the state to issue driver's licenses to illegal aliens."

Hummmm, let's see, motor voter + thousands of illegals = an expanded democrat voter base. How conveeeeeeient!

In Tennessee we give licenses to illegals and they do not even have to have insurance. I have heard numerous stories of locals who have been plowed into by illegals only to watch them drive away and leave the local driver paying all repair costs. The police have given up on trying to do anything to the illegals. They say the INS never comes to pick them up and every day an illegal stays in jail just costs the taxpayers more money.

The word is out on Tennessee. Many places no longer accept a Tennessee license as a valid I.D. because of the situation. You may remember the illegal Arabs in Memphis who were implicated in the mysterious death of a DMV employee. One of the men had done work in the WTC in early September 2001. They all had Tennessee licenses. A license can open many doors.

We are getting the double hammer here in our state. Liberals love to push the diversity and register potential voters. On the other side, most of our big businesses love the cheap labor without benefits.

I can't wait until Clinton is out of office so we can fix this problem.

Democratic Sen. Gil Cedillo claims his bill, SB 60, would make the state's roads safer since now, about 2 million illegals routinely drive without proper training, testing or car insurance.

So it's all about getting money into state coffers (Driver's test) and the coffers of the insurance industry.

It has to be because how many illegals are really bitching about not being able to drive? This Cedillo character says 2 million are already on the road.

This is the tip of the iceberg.
Our trucking industry in Texas is shackled with so many regulations, inspections and registrations that they can barely function and make a profit.
Trucks from Mexico bringing the cheap crap to replace American products travel our highways with impunity, disregarding requirements for brake and running light inspections, emission controls and tire wear monitoring.
When one of these trucks blows a tire or throws a brake lining and runs over an American family and kills them, who are the survivors going to sue? They don't even have insurance!

I really think what we're seeing in Texas today is the prototype of what we will see in America in fifty years, maybe less.
The cancer has invaded our southern boundary and it's eating it's way northward.
We're witnessing the extinguishing of America as we know it.

Every president since LBJ and his 1965 immigration act shares reponsibility for this destruction of our country. Things really worsened starting with Reagan and Bush 1 and the first amnesties. By the time Clinton rolled in, it was clear how fast the invasion was moving along, and even Klintoon briefly recognized the problem, endorsing a Barbara Jordan study calling for immigration reduction. He, of course, quickly abandoned that view when it was explained to him how good the invasion was for the Democratic Party, though he did go on to sign the 1996 Immigration Reform Act, which cracked down on a few immigraiton abuses.

George Bush Jr. will be remembered I think as being the last man who could have slowed or stopped the invasion, but chose to do nothing. His party has both houses of Congress, the public supports immigration reduction, yet what do we get? Pandering, pandering, and more pandering in the almighty pursuit of term 2 (in which, of course, there will be more pandering).

A word from your fellow Texan in the White House would be most helpful.
