George Bush Thinks You Are Unpatriotic
Dear $,
We've seen it over and over again: George W. Bush is using the patriotism of the American people to cloak his right-wing agenda, an agenda that hurts average Americans. They wrap themselves in the flag, dismissing the criticism of their worst policies as unpatriotic. According to Bush and the GOP, you aren't a patriot if you:
Think eroding our civil liberties is a cause for concern. Don't support massive tax cuts for the wealthy at the expense of working families. Believe the American people deserve to know whether President Bush misled them about Iraq's threat to our nation. Care about protecting our environment. President Bush and the Republicans are wrong. Real patriotism is more than photo-ops and platitudes. Real patriotism is fighting for real families every day -- and we're taking this month to showcase the real patriotism of Democrats.
July Is Patriotism Month
[Thanks DNC, I thought it was national Dodge Truck Month at your local participating Dodge Dealer, phoney pretentious bastards, sorry..I'm not bitter, on with their Talking Points] Real patriotism demands action. As we celebrate 227 years of American independence this month, the DNC will deliver to you new tools, new action items, and new messages from Democratic leaders that will help you accomplish the real goal of all true patriots: beating Bush in 2004!
The Bush administration is putting our freedoms and our values at risk -- the very things that make this country great.
Working together, we can defeat Bush in 2004 and restore what he has torn down. Keep an eye on your inbox this month for more news and tools that will help lead us to victory, including ePatriots, our new grassroots victory team.

The Bush Administration and the GOP Questions Your Patriotism
"There are reminders to all Americans that they need to watch what they say, watch what they do, and this is not a time for remarks like that. There never is." White House Spokesman Ari Fleischer, 9/26/2001
"To those who scare peace-loving people with phantoms of lost liberty, my message is this: Your tactics only aid terrorists for they erode our national unity and diminish our resolve. They give ammunition to America's enemies." Attorney General John Ashcroft, 12/6/2001
"[Democrats] need to be very cautious not to seek political advantage by making incendiary suggestions." Vice President Dick Cheney, 5/17/2002
"Those comments may not undermine the President as he leads us into war, and they may not give comfort to our adversaries, but they come mighty close." Dennis Hastert, 3/18/02
"This destructive rhetoric does nothing more than demoralize our troops and second-guess our commander in chief." Tom Delay, 3/20/03
Tom Delay, 3/20/03
OK liberals, let's poll the troops.
The rank and file are on average dumber than fence posts and vote as they are told.
I'll share what came to my mind, Terry is putting a comically optimistic face on a dire situation because he realizes that another loss to Bush in '04 means he is personally in deep, deep trouble.
When did Bush or anyone in his administration ever say, or even insinuate, that people who questioned his "right-wing agenda" were unpatriotic? Give us some quotes or shut up, McAuliffe.
Dang, they could've at least added "So does Free Republic..."
Has Terry McAullife just questioned my patriotism? Isn't that supposed to be a big bad awfull thing that nobody can do to anybody else? No we went further and anyone else who supports the President of being unpatriotic.
He actually says it. Bush has never said anything of the sort. And he said it in the course of accusing Bush of saying it. What an idiot. I'll be pulling this one out everytime some mouth-breather trys the patriotism line on me. Obviously Democrats are meansprited dolts who see the world in stark black-and-white terms, unlike us sophisticated intellectual Republicans.
Can you sense the desperation?

George Bush Thinks You Are Unpatriotic
Dear $,
We've seen it over and over again: George W. Bush is using the patriotism of the American people to rally the country to support his administrations efforts to rid the world of terrorist. THE NERVE OF THIS GUY!
President Bush will never get it, we are supposed to find out why these blood thirsty radical Muslims hate us, NOT kill them. I believe that if we are going to have any chance of taking back the White House in 2004 we must do all we can to claim he is challenging our patriotism for asking us to support America's effort in the War on Terrorism.
Here is how it works: Remember how we successfully painted Joe McCarthy as a "Red Baiter" even though he was correct about the Soviet spies in our Party? Well! We can do this again by playing the part of the victim, as we know, nobody plays the victim card like we democrats. So every time George W. Bush challenges the positions we take on the war on terrorism or our long history of coming to the defense of every tin horn dictator on the planet, just pull out the "Patriotism Card" and race to the nearest microphone and scream as loud as you can "HOW DARE GEORGE BUSH CHALLENGE MY PATRIOTISM", I'm telling you this will work, just like the term "McCarthyism" has worked for us in the past.
I'm looking forward to further eroding the moral fabric of this Nation as your Chairman of the DNC.
Sincerely,
Terry McAuliffe
Chairman
