I can't see KAKKATE KOI on the graphic. What I do see is:

Scott Ritter's testament.

Iraq War

What the Bush Administration wants to hide.

I'm curious what has turned the Japanese press against Bush. When I was there during the 2000 election the public was overwhelming in favor of Bush over Gore.

LOL Thanks for the update AmericanInTokyo! Everyone loves strength (that's why the sympathy for bad guys.) Conversely, we hate weakness. Yeah President Bush! Quote of the day :)

How correct you are. The *Kakkate Koi* is from the LINK I provided to the Japanese newspaper. Graphics just for effect.

At any rate, to answer your question, the press just told the great masses of Japanese, over and over again, what to think about George Bush. Very little independent thinking there. The populace is extremely exploitable. It is even worse in S. Korea, if the press there paints someone as "evil" and that we should all hate them.

What a website you lead me to!

Some great graphics like the above, links to scores of raunchy stories like rape schools and organized crime, plus some real news and interest stories like you descibe, but which aren't available for long. Did you, by any chance, save the story. If so, please Freepmail me and I'll give you my e-mail address to forward it to. Just going to the above website brought back memories of leaning over the shoulder of some salaryman on a crowded subway car to read his newspaper, only to find out it was the Sankei Sports Shinbun.

Don't kid yourself. The Japanese media and the book industry in Japan is VERY VERY anti-Bush.

That is SO disappointing. I have always had this image of the Japanese as pragmatic, smart, & independent people. That they are going the way of the rest of the world's sheeple is a big downer. It was heartening when there were large support marches for the U.S. in S. Korea, and although these never made it into the lamestream media here, I had hope it was a sign that the silent majority in Southeast Asia had it right. Oh well.

"Kakkate" sounds alot like "caga te" in spanish, which means, basically, "sh*t yourself". So this could be construed as an insult or a command to these poor fishies..

I thought "Kakkate" sounded like what my son's cat does on my carpet.

This phrase is often heard in tough, burly precincts of blue collar Japan just before fists are hurled.

How does one hurl a fist?

Hey go to this site and just copy paste the kanji/katakana/hiragana. It always seems to work for me cause I think it's a web based japanese font.

"Don't kid yourself. The Japanese media and the book industry in Japan is VERY VERY anti-Bush. If you go into a major bookstore in Tokyo and look at the books up in the front on disply in "Current Topics", one third are on Bush and literally 90% of them are anti-Bush and most have covers with 'manga' or photos of Bush that are very unflattering. They have pictured him in the mind of the common Japanese as 'mad', war mongering and stupid."

Yea but they love and respect strength !

My wife of 20 years is a commie Jap but she also loves things strong. Brick houses, strong people (Ones who don't take crap) and strong leaders !

Bush comes accross strong so they respect that !
