No, You don't have to be "religious" to be Conservative. You can be fiscally conservative but morally bankrupt!! Christianity and religion are NOT the same thing. Religion, which I abhor is nothing but a man made set of rules and regulations. Christianity, on the other hand, is a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus Christ. Huge Difference. Jesus himself, called the religious folk, snakes and vipers, white washed sepulchres full of dead men's bones.!! It pays to know the difference.

Satan is behind that movement, and Christ is the ONLY player who worries him.Very well said. I've long noticed that only the words "Jesus" and "Christ" seem to upset people. Christmas becomes "holiday" or "winter break." George W. Bush says that Jesus is the philosopher who most influenced him, and people have a cow over it. He probably could have said "God" and people wouldn't have been nearly so upset. Even on shows like "Touched By An Angel," they say "God," but never, EVER "Jesus" or "Christ." That is the big taboo. And of course, nobody complains about mentions of Allah, Buddah, etc. We must be tolerant and inclusive, after all! Oh, sure, people can say "God bless you" or "God bless America," and it's tolerated and even makes people feel warm and fuzzy. But Jesus Christ is the name that is banned.
As annoying as this is, I also find it strangely comforting. It's so obvious that Satan is targeting Jesus, and only Jesus, that it proves beyond a doubt that Jesus must be the only way to the Father! Hopefully others will take notice of this, as well.

In essence, conservatives believe in the 10 commandments, and in particular, the one stating "Thou shalt have no other gods before me". Exactly. One can be totally secular and derive meaning from that. "Other gods" doesn't have to be a Golden Calf. It can be work, booze, sex and, often, oneself. Conservatism is knowing limits, in giving attention and respect where due.

I have always noticed that also. Ever wonder where the swear words Jesus Christ came from???? Why not Buddha! or something else. It's really satanically motivated speech.

Lib, your post reminds me of something I've often pondered. My first instinct is to say you're right, that Satan knows scripture back and forth. If that be true, it naturally follows that he has read the end of the story, which does not prevent a pretty picture for him. You think he believes it? Or does he think he can change the outcome?

To: Nea Wood
Yup, exactly. Talk about God, fine. Talk about "the man upstairs," fine. But don't dare say Jesus or Christ, because the squirming is about to begin. Being "religious" or "devout" or a "man of faith" is a-okay. Being born again means you like to handle snakes.
And you're right, Satan's aversion to Jesus makes it clear we're on the right track!

"You think he believes it? Or does he think he can change the outcome?" He knows it, but he doesn't understand it. Wasn't he behind the crucifixion? Obviously, if he had understood how that would come out, he might have thought better of his design don't you think? I think it is the same thing with how the story ends. He knows the words, but he is still blinded by his pride and is without understanding. The scriptures are a mystery unless God's opens one's eyes to see. Satan still believes he can be greater than God, and whenever he gathers followers among men, his pride is nourished because he has proven able to steal away that which is most precious to God.

Wonderful article explaining the differences between the two ideologies. He said it all. However we are speaking up, and being shouted down, and shut down by activist judges.

The Soviets had a group called "League of Militant Atheists" lead by Emelian Michailovich Yaroslavsky. So much of what they did is similar to what the left does or one could picture them doing today. Parades at Christmas and Easter were held to mock the Christian faith. The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Anne in St. Petersburg (built in 1779) was turned into a movie theater specializing in homosexual film festivals (the part of the church which was not converted into a nightclub and bar). They depicted the clergy as drunks and thieves. They banned religious schools. They taxed churches. They separated church and state and then forbid the faithful to proselytize or engage in charity work.

You could substitute "liberal" with "evolutionist" and still be nuts on in this article.

He knows it, but he doesn't understand it. See, that's the part that's always puzzled me. We know he's a pretty sharp old codger. And unlike lost people who are smart enough to understand but yet fail to believe, there's surely no doubt in his mind as to the existence and divinity of God, and all the biblical history thereof. Which makes me think he understands, but thinks he can change the outcome, thinks he can in the end actually defeat God.

As Ronald Reagan said in one of his speeches: Many sides say God is on our side when the question we should ask is are we on God's side. (not an exact quote-just what i remember)

He (Satan) knows it, but he doesn't understand it.
See, that's the part that's always puzzled me. We know he's a pretty sharp old codger...
Intelligence ("sharp old codger") is vastly different than wisdom, which leads to understanding. Intelligence is a measurement of how much you have built up yourself (in the area of one specific skill set), whereas wisdom is measured by how much you have given yourself over to some universally true virtue, as ordained by God. The fact, therefore, that Satan is intelligent, can be more of an impediment to his understanding of scripture, because it becomes one more aspect in which he glorifies himself over God.
