Your comments about MREs and smelling like the food you eat are dead on. Don't know if you ever noticed, but after someone ate turkey, diced with gravy...he smelled really rank.

Do three REFORGER exercises count? I buzzed through my first one in 1981 as a S5 Manuever Damage Control officer. That was a blast! Just a quarter ton and a driver and a trailer for our gear and a whole CORPS area to cover! I was on my own....only needing to deliver reports to Corps HQ once every couple of days. We used to pull into a Gasthaus and I'd send my driver inside for dinner (pomfritz und svei (sp?=2) biers and a nice cozy barn to sleep in...my driver spoke fluent german....it was great. Except for the occasional terror alert...I think that was the year the Red Brigades tried to kill Gen Dozier. I remember being issued two mags of ball ammo for my .45...it was a rare moment of getting to carry a sidearm rather than an M16.

Are you saying in the UK I'd be charged, or over here? Bottom line is, if she was seen on my property, then tried to spray something in my face, she would be subdued until authorities arrived. I'll let the jury decide whether they can convict me of felonius assault. Just to goof with her, I may tell her to dig a ditch with the shovel!

Must not have been a very effective offense. If I head-butt someone, he's gonna KNOW what happened. He may not know what happened afterward, but he'll be in no doubt about the initial incident.
