Q. Do you see a way forward for Americans to come together politically, as a country? A. Oh, yes. I do. The Democratic Party has got to go away. It's got to just hang up its stirrups. I really think it has functionally gone the way of the Whigs, and it's just a matter of enough Democrats figuring that out. Can't both parties agree on the defense of America? I mean, it was not like this in World War II. The Republicans were not constantly taunting F.D.R., "Well, he doesn't have Hitler yet! He doesn't have Hitler! Where are these alleged death camps?" The country pulled together! Both parties!

So so true.

Yes, she does it all the time. Female, girly-men, womanish, carping... it's really quite charming.

"Gay sex may well be a mystery of life, but I'll be damned if I can find it in the Constitution. "

Way to go Ann!

what, she couldn't even knock off 'living history' in her first week out?

Well, it is The New York Times bestseller list. Thus, it may have little or no basis in fact.

pathetic. what a girly girl.

She KNOWS she's a girly girl. She's very ok with her femininity. It's just the male liberals whose masculinity she questions.

Exactly, Smith. A real interviewer makes an attempt to do some background reading before pretending to interview the subject. So, it was a pretty blatant admission that he hadn't bothered to read even a few pages because she mentions the girlie men throughout her book (it's not easy to miss!).

I'm absolutely smitten. Too bad I'm only 19...

She's brilliant on every level. I hate hearing these liberal blowhards accuse her of being some kind of facist. Ann is a facist like Swift was a baby-eater.

The comments about gay sex in the constitution and "He doesn't have Hitler yet!" had me rolling on the floor. Well done, Ann!

Should be "BEYOND BELIEF" by HRC, not Elaine Pagels.
---come to think of it, ALL of the other 4 books, including Ann's would've provided better titles than LIVING HISTORY to HRC's "book". Especially "MONEYBALL".

unabashedly right-wing rhetoric

This is the kind of language libs used to use to describe groups like homosexuals. Does this mean that we're about to be embraced and celebrated too?

*sarcasm*

I don't. Is she calling the liberals "feminine"? Is she calling them all "bitches"?

In an interview a few years ago she caused a huge controversy by calling liberals a buncha "girly-men" because they can't take criticism.

she's brilliant on exactly one level: she knows how to entertain.

if you removed all of the clever name calling and ad hominem attacks from her writing you would be left with a nearly empty husk. when you embrace ms. coulter, you play right into liberals' charicature of right wingers as incapable of any discourse beyond shrill diatribe.

grow up.

I'm assuming you meant cariacature. And that's kind of the point. The wit and hyperbole are what make Coulter's writing special (not to detract from the incredible amount of research she does.) Would she currently enjoy the status she does in the conservative ranks if she was some run-of-the-mill mouthpiece instead of a scathing pundit? I doubt it. It's nice to have someone like Coulter around to fight fire with fire, as it were.

And that last little bit that's left in the husk is a small grain of truth. Truth so potent that liberals react to it like vampires to holy water.

It's a wonderful thing to see. Ann states the truth is a way that can't be ignored.

You haven't read the book, have you? Treason Pge 52-53:

In 1992, ABC's Nightline was puzzling over the guilt of two engineers in the Rosenbergs' spy ring who fled to Russia after the Rosenbergs were arrested. Joel Barr fled so fast he left all his possessions behind in a Paris apartment. Alfred Sarant left behind a wife and child--but took his neighbor's wife with him. Once safely ensconced in the mother country, the USSR, Barr and Sarant were set up in fabulous apartments in Leningrad and were paid ten times more than the average Russian worker. They were given their own institute to design technology that would be used to shoot down American planes . . .The deciphered Soviet cables revealed that Barr and Sarant were "among the KGB's most valuable technical spies..."

But in 1992, ABC's Nightline didn't know what to make of a Communist Party member fleeing to Russia upon the Rosenberg's arrest. Ted Koppel interviewed Barr--who had recently returned to America to collect his Social Security benefits. Koppel treated Barr's spy status as an open question . . .

Amid occasional clips of FBI agents blind with rage, screaming that Barr was a Soviet spy who had done incalculable damage to America, Koppel informed that audience that Barr had "left" the country because he was "pro-Communist." Koppel quickly explained that being "pro-Communist was "not such a terrible thing during the U.S.-Soviet alliance of World War II"

. . .Koppel joshed with the American traitor, telling Barr, "You're a piece of work, you really are." Barr was, Koppel said, "charming, engaging, at times bewilderingly disingenuous."

Barr had retained his American citizenship and had even voted in recent presidential elections. Guess which party he belonged to? Guess!

Koppel: You voted?

Mr. Barr: Of course I voted. Are you kidding? I'm a Democrat.

Koppel concluded with the mind-bogglingly stupid point that Barr didn't look like a spy: "He still doesn't seem to fit into any easy preconception of what a spy should be."

It was only about a year ago and the "huge" controversy was among... well... "girly men" and perverts.

Good answer, John. Thanks. We need Ann Coulters to counteract the poison being drunk by the sheeple.
