Two foreign governments thought to be France and Italy supplied Britain with the intelligence for its claim that Saddam Hussein's Iraq has sought uranium from Africa.
The Financial Times has learned from senior Whitehall sources that the information came from the two West Eurpoean countries and not from now discredited documents that proved to be forgeries.
This information, which does not appear to have been passed on to the United States, would suggest why the government felt confident enough to put it on a dossier of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction last September.
United States criticism of British claims about Iraq's efforts to buy uranium has exposed deep flaws in the intelligence sharing between London and Washington and caused deep concern in some parts of Whitehall, officials said Sunday.
Britan made the uranium claim in last September's dossier despite being told that the US Central Intelligence Agency had 'reservations' about its inclusion.

Remember that a donation doesn't have to be large to be significant. There are tens of thousands of FReepers. If everyone would donate just $1.00 a month, we would never have to have another of these FReepathons.

There is an
earlier story about this. Also, Italy has denied being involved.

I am so infuriated over this BS that from now on I will refer to the Democrat Party as the party of Treason & Traitors. It's okay to beat on the President, but when it begins to embolden our enemies and American soldiers die, because the enemy thinks we are weak sisters, you have to call a spade a spade. This current Democrat Party needs to be full destroyed at the ballot box next year!

Meanwhile, Chirac's wife is touting Hillary for President. Funny that!

If Italy denies it, I tend to believe them. Berlusconi has been a consistent ally.

ewing thanks for posting this.
Miss Marple tried to warn us that France and the Clintoons were in bed together creating some bad juju for America and our President.
Again Miss Marple appears to be on target and ahead of even the Freeper Pack!

Being that South Canada is not in western Europe, I would doubt it (tongue planted firmly in cheek). I was thinking more along the lines of Portugal, if Italy is not the second nation.

Thank you for remembering.
Clinton is getting ready to make a trip to (ta-da) Africa and will no doubt sow seeds of discord there as well.
He is becoming more confident in his trouble-making. He is not attempting to disguise his trips as speeches so much any more, is he? I think he will overstep and will be caught, big time.
The President knnows what Clinton is doing. President Bush is not naive nor is he stupid.
He is, however, a very patient man.
Beware the fury of the patient man.

Clintoon needs to worry about MI6 doing a tape job when he is on one of these circuits.
Then, the London Telegraph can print what was said as the Clintoon took bribes and laid out more plans of treason.
That way GW, the CIA and America would not be involved.
