Somewhere on one of these threads, someone posted an article from Purgatory that said Jackie Peterson's father, John Harvey Latham, was murdered in 1945. Apparently he was a junkyard owner in San Diego. He phoned his wife (Helen) one evening at 9 p.m. to tell her he was on his way home from work, but he never made it. Jackie was 2 at the time. Latham's body was found outside his office the next morning. He'd been bludgeoned to death with an iron pipe. A former employee of his was convicted.
And, humorously, I think some of the folks at Purgatory got confused due to something OUR Jackie once told us. Our own Jackie has told us that her father was a detective. Someone on Purgatory, posting under the above article there, said that they'd thought Jackie Peterson's father was a detective, but that now they'd found out he was a junkyard owner.
Thanks for the pings. I'll be glad when the pre-trial comes. And, now I'll have to keep up with this case and Kobe Bryant's; being a LA native. Geez, what a day!
I guess that's how rumors get started huh??
