KASSEL - Prosecutors Thursday said they have filed a murder indictment against one of two gay men who met in an Internet chat room, where it allegedly was agreed that one of them would kill and devour the other.
And in a stunning new development, prosecutors in Kassel said they are broadening the investigation to include some 430 other persons believed to have been involved in the Internet gay cannibalism chat room that led to the death of a 42-year-old man in March 2001.
Prosecutors are convinced that the victim, a computer analyst from Berlin, agreed to be killed and eaten. His dismembered and partially devoured remains were found at the residence of a 41-year-old suspect.
That suspect, identified only as Armin M., has been charged with murder. Cannibalism per se is not a crime under German law.
Despite the fact that the victim willingly agreed to be killed, prosecutors said the case could not be considered "assisted suicide". So they opted for a murder indictment.
Prosecutors Thursday said the suspect has admitted videotaping himself killing the Berlin man, a computer chip developer at Siemens corporation, identified only as Bernd Juergen B.
On the morning of his disappearance from Berlin on March 9, 2001, Bernd Juergen B. completed his will. He left the bulk of his estate including a lavish penthouse apartment and EUR 50,000 worth of computer equipment to his live-in partner, a man named Rene.
According to police, the victim had several thousand dollars in cash and his passport when he travelled 300 kilometres from Berlin to the alleged murderer's house near Kassel.
Searching the rambling, 30-room, half-timbered house in the village of Rotenburg, investigators unearthed skeletal remains, some of them packaged in a freezer, along with videotapes and CD-ROMs on which the suspect allegedly recorded his actions.
Authorities were tipped off to the crime by internet surfers who stumbled upon chat room requests allegedly posted by the suspect in which he was looking for people willing to be slaughtered and eaten by him.

So the guy went there to become a Rotenburger?
Armin Mouth?
Figure this bears repeating.
Sometimes the jokes are too easy.
(What is it with Wisconsin? No shortages of hotdogs. Even Pittsbugh is jealous. Still, one cannibal every generation
or so isn't too bad...)
Bernd Juergen B. was a French-friend testator.
Rene was probably a Parisite.
These are cultural differences that we should embrace < /sarcasm >.

Which one is Bernd Juergen B.?
Obviously they've learned prejudice and segregation from us, too-- they don't welcome heterosexual cannibals? That's not very inclusive. It practically borders on xenophobia. What about diversity???

Court TV Crime Library - Sexual Cannibalism
Another more recent example of sexual cannibalism is the case surrounding Armin M in Rotenburg, Germany. In March 2001, Armin placed an advertisement on the Internet for handsome men from eighteen to thirty-years old to be slaughtered and eaten. Surprisingly, a forty-two-year old microchip engineer from Berlin, Bernd Juergen Brandes, responded to the offer and shortly thereafter traveled to Rotenburg to meet Armin.Following the man's arrival at Armin's house, they mutually agreed to amputate his penis, which was flambéed and fried and then consumed by both Armin and his victim. Armin then killed the man, cut up a portion of his body, froze it and buried the rest in his backyard. In an article titled Bizarre Cannibal Killing Shocks Germany from Reuters News Agency, police stated that the act stemmed from "cannibalistic and homosexual tendencies shared by both men."

I'm figuring that there is no law because German lawmakers didn't think of it, it's just too vile. You only bother to have laws against bad things you think someone might really do, right? You don't sit around thinking of hideous things. Maybe that's a mistake.
It happened in the USA once that I know of (Jeffery Dahmer), but he was convicted of crimes other than cannibalism. Is there a law against cannibalism as such in any state of the USA? Not arguing, only asking.
Apparently, this is a subculture in Germany, though most members of it are only fantasizers. Sick!
Gay Tummy for a Straight Yummy?
I'm not saying that incidence of cannibalism is higher in Germany than elsewhere, just discussing the law or lack thereof.
That Court TV article said that many areas don't have specific laws that target cannibalism.
Obviously if some people are eating the placenta, they manage to convince the doctor to give it to them (or they birth at home).
In Texas it is "illegal" to procure organs/severed limbs for compensation; it is possible that a hospital worker could steal such castoffs for himself (although the theft would be a crime that the hospital could persue).
Some mutilation of a living person (even consensual) is prohibited in America (there have been other incidents of men meeting over the internet to eat one of their sex organs).
I would say that there is a big enough subculture globally that there are several "chat rooms" on the internet that go beyond mere fantasy.
"There are about 800 cannibals in Germany" - Armin Menschenfresser said in statement to police.
Hey! I'm not a boy!
That would be followers of Wilhelm Reich or folks influenced by same. No primitve people does this, but chimpanzees do, and Reich pronounced it natural. This is the same guy who invented the orgone box. The idea of this is that jerking off in a specially designed closet will make you more sane. Tapping into the orgone energy of the universe you see, but more expensive than common ordinary jerking off.

What a world! What a species! Or should I blame the devil for having a really nasty sense of humor?
Certainly some seem to be Darwin award winners (this computer chip guy participated in self-cannibalism AND eliminated his own reproductive organ before he was killed).
