There have been several bioweapons scientists dead under mysterious circumstances over the past year or two. I'll see if I can track down an article (I vaguely remember one in Toronto's
Globe & Mail).
I think you're thinking of the Russian who formerly worked in the Biopreparat bioweapons research during the Soviet era who was murdered in Britain not too long ago.
