July 19, 2003 -- Speaking of intelligence failures, meet Sen. Bob Graham, the Florida Democrat and White House aspirant who wants to impeach President Bush.

All week long, Graham has been using the I-word, suggesting that "we went to war under false pretenses."

Thank you very much!
Thank you very much!
That's the nicest thing that anyone's ever done for me.
It isn't every day
good fortune comes me way!
I never thought the future would be fun for me!
And if I had a bugle
I would blow it to add a sort
o' how's your father's touch.
But since I left me bugle at home
I simply have to say
Thank you very, very, very much!
Thank you very, very, very much!

Thank you for your donation!

The following is an enjoyable read.

REPUBLICAN PARTY OF FLORIDA

420 E. JEFFERSON STREET * TALLAHASSEE, FL 32302
CHAIRMAN CAROLE JEAN JORDAN

For Immediate Release
Contact: Geoffrey Becker
July 18, 2003
(850) 222-7920

RPOF Chairman Jordan Admonishes Graham

TALLAHASSEE – The following is a statement from RPOF Chairman Carole Jean Jordan about Senator Bob Graham’s assertion that impeachment might be appropriate for the President:

“I am appalled at the depths Florida’s senior Senator would go in an attempt to breathe life into his near dead presidential aspirations.

“Americans continue to ignore his campaign, which is sixth in fundraising and sixth in the polls. Now today, Graham makes another desperate attempt to salvage what’s left of his once notable political career.

“As the ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Graham knew full well the reasons we went to war with Iraq. He was privy to public and secret information that led to the coalition of countries freeing the people of Iraq from the rule of the tyrant Saddam Hussein.

“After being rejected on a national scale, Graham will no doubt slink back to Florida pleading for re-election to the Senate. Florida will reject him as well.”

Thank you for the reminders. The long-term historical memory of many Americans is very short. To go back and revisit actual words and acts of our leaders is to prevent a great deal of double-speak and hypocracy. Is Graham not a member of the Graham family which owns or did own the Washington Post? I simply know they are very, very liberal and very, very rich.

You are certainly right about the public's memory problem... far as Graham goes, all I recall is that when he was Governor of the fine state south of me, he never did anything that put him on my "Enemies" list- but since then, he is making up for lost time.

He is not fit to hold the office of dogcatcher, let alone any higher authority.

I have been watching Graham for some time. In addition to this latest outrage, I believe he is also using his position on the Intelligence Committee to hint that he "knows things" and smear the President with the inference.

My democrat senator, Evan Bayh, and also Jay Rockefeller have disassociated themselves from many of his recent statements.

The most charitable thing I can say about Graham is that perhaps during his recent heart surgery his brain was inadvertently deprived of oxygen.

Thanks for the links, by the way. It is good to remember!

Doubtless Graham - who until now has been one of the more responsible Democrats in Congress

I would question this statement.

The man is "nuts", always has been, always will be. He may look responsible, but he is unresponsive to his constituency, and anybody that has any doubts as to his mental stability, just get a copy of some of his journal entries.

LOL

Maybe they operated on the wrong part. Then again, since he seems to have no concern about the thousands and thousands of victims of Sadam, maybe he has no "heart".

And from his recent statements I seriously question whether he has a brain.

And it needs to stop.

This sums it up. The Dems are completely irresponsible and they are definitely giving aid and comfort to the enemy. They seem to have forgotten that there are lives at stake. Or maybe they don't care anyway.

PRICELESS!! With your permission I will use this in a letter to the Orlando Sentinel who insist on calling Graham "Florida's favorite son" - which drives me nuts.

You are most welcome to use it!! Spread it far and wide!

I consider this guy the lowest of the low, and in the circle of bottom-feeders he is running aganst, that's saying something. I personally want him taken out of the running as soon as possible, so that he can't even be offered the VP slot.

I am not sure the word 'intelligence' is appropriate in connection with Senator Bob Graham, aka the Graham 'Cracker', because he does not have any intelligence.

Maybe this will help, excerpted from his web site.

During Graham’s two terms as governor, Florida brought more environmentally endangered lands into public ownership than any other state in the nation.

Thanks for pointing that out- another way to put that is "using the power and might of the government to coerce folks to part with their property, and using their own tax money to pay for it..."

If they don't print it maybe the St. Petersburg Times will. They wrote an article in February about the "mental fog" that persists in heart srugery patients.

Recovering from a body beating[excerpt on Free Republic] Recovering from a body beating [actual SPTimes article]

When Sen. Bob Graham underwent surgery Friday for a faltering heart valve, he and more than 200 other Americans that day had a procedure that has become routine in its frequency yet remains brutal in its assault on the body.

[snip]

Almost three-fourths of heart patients have some cognitive dysfunction -- called "brain fog" -- for as long as six months after surgery. In about 10 percent, the mental fuzziness is permanent, Singh says.

As redlipstick points out ,in another thread, Graham's surgery turned out to be even more extensive than folks were told at the time the SP Times article came out.

"Graham tried to back away a bit, claiming that 'impeachment is not a subject I have ever raised on my own'"

ROTFLOL ... the doddering old fool has just admitted he got the idea from HITLERY OR X42, OR McAWFUL, OR CARVILLE, OR SHRUM. "on my own" indeed Senator Graham - you should be ashamed for allowing yourself to be used by these people.

As Scarborough pointed out - all these dems who are yelling the loudest about this issue were all in a leadership position and would have had almost as much info re the intel as the President; and they evidently thought the intel was okay last October.

Can any Floridian tell me if Bob Graham has always talked in such a 'breathless' way - not really saying his words forcefully. To me, his delivery sounds like someone with lung disease - emphysema or asthma, and I am wondering if this is another result of his surgery, or if his heart is not as good as he would like to believe.

Sen. Bob Graham should quit job

By Martha Kirby Satellite Beach

Several Florida Today articles in the past have discussed the risk of brain damage to heart patients who undergo surgery.

Recent statements attributed to Sen. Bob Graham, D-Miami Lakes, supports these medical findings.

Following his heart surgery, Graham has said President Bush's administration has a Nixonian stench, and has given credence to theories about right-wing conspiracies.

Such remarks can only mean that Graham has lost his mind, and should retire due to medical disabilites.
