The ugly truth of black hypocrisy
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ^ | Sunday, July 20, 2003 | Colin McNickle

There's nothing quite like a vacation to recalibrate that ol' B.S.-O-Meter. For constant exposure to buncombe and intellectual inanity tends to produce inurement instead of the outrage it should. All work and no play makes for one dull Sunday columnist.

Julian Bond's entire life has been focused on matters of race. Julian, unfortunately, has not adapted well to old age and has failed to move out of the mid-20th century. Like Jesse Jackson he clings to the issue of racism in order to remain relevant-- and fails.

I grew up in an America where blacks definitely were discriminated against, and the causes of equality and a color-blind society were underway. Now we ignore arguments that are pure racism and promise nothing but racial division forever (in fact it is a leftist mantra that racism can NEVER be eliminated so "reverse" racism must go on forever.) Civil rights leaders worship dictator Castro, and praise cop killers. Who is to blame? The democrats for sure, but also the republicans for being too "sophisticated" to join in the fray. Oh, and don't forget that anti-Catholic hatred is rampant as well.

The NAACP is an outdated, partisan organization in the pockets of the DemoCrap party.

Their tax-exempt status should be immediately revoked.

Bond realizes the "victim" status is fading fast...too many blacks have adopted the middle class dream and lifestyle, understand what competition is all about, and are now paying taxes and see where their taxes are going, they are leaving the ghettos and low income housing for nicer neighborhoods, and have a better look at the past and realize that hard work does pay off.

Bond's only minions are the ones who are still willing to sit on their porch waiting for their handout while their children roam the streets of the ghetto looking for a quick buck while dodging each other's bullets.

When you are the "spokesperson" for the ghetto dwellers and common street criminals, you won't and aren't held responsible for racist rhetoric.

As blatantly racist as all of this NAACP barking was, what's worse is that I've seen no expressions of outrage in the liberal media or among liberal commentators.

Good slam at Dowd too.

The worst thing that could happen, as far as race-baiting scoundrels like Bond, Jackson, Mfume etal are concerned, is for Black Americans to rightfully conclude that the so-called Black "leadership" has been an anchor around the necks of American Blacks for the last thirty years. The sooner they realize that their progress comes from themselves and their families and not from glory-seeking and filthy lucre-chasing mountebanks like the afore-mentioned scalawags, the better off they'll be.

Any betterment in black/white relations would be very threatening to the NAACP. Their organizational survival depends on black/white relations being poisoned

Back to the re-education camp for you, Mr. McNickle! You've forgotten one of the central dogmas of the state religion here in America: It is not possible for a minority to be a racist. Because of the centuries of oppression by the evil patriarchy of white males, no words or actions of an oppressed minority - no matter how vicious - can be truly racist. Only whites can be racists. I just don't understand - didn't you read your Hegel and Marx in public school? It's all right there. As far as minorities go, they should just keep on screaming about oppression and racism between sips of the Kool-Aid we've so generously provided and all will come out according to the great plan. (/Sarcasm)

"What is the KKK"

True enough, but you won't catch politicians visiting and support the KKK. You won't see companies donating huge money to the KKK and the only place you could find KKK members spouting there hatred is the Jerry Springer show. Besides, most white Americans detest this organization! This white American wouldn't be caught dead at a KKK meeting....I hate them as much as I hate the NAACP.

Molly Ivins is sitting on her mouth

ROTFL ... as were the rest of the aforementioned 'limousine liberals' so adeptly skewered by Mr. McNickle.

The truly tragic part is that Bond has managed to lie, cheat and steal his way to a lifestyle that is better than 99% of his black brethren, and yet he feels free to spew this hateful bile.

I am ashamed to admit that I am of the same species as this 'man', let alone that we share the same skin color.

Jefferson Davis was no war criminal and he neither asked for nor ever wanted to receive any pardon from the federal government. Simply put, he did nothing wrong and that is why the u.S. Congress and Supreme Court wouldn't touch his much talked about "treason" trial with a 10 foot pole. They wouldn't allow him to state his case for he would have easily won. He had more honour in his big toe than Bond and Mfume combined.

"Jefferson Davis was no war criminal..."

Yes, agreed, this caught my mind too amid all the talk of the idiotic remarks of Mr. Bond. My goodness, Jefferson Davis wasn't even a warrior, he was the President of the Confederacy, so what Bond is saying is that anyone who supports a cause he disagrees with is a war criminal.

The man is an ignoramus, and if he were white he'd be relegated to annoying his children and boring his wife with his rants, he'd not get 5 minutes on the public stage.

Jefferson Davis claimed to be Commander-in-Chief of an armed band of insurgents in the southern United States during the 1860s known as "the Confederate Army", making him very much a warrior. He, along with every other rebel, was a traitor, but there's no basis for calling him a war criminal, except perhaps for his allowing U.S. Army prisoenrs to starve at Andersonville, and that was never adjudicated.

Ishmael Reed and a group of mostly Blacks were on cspan2 "Harlem Book Fair" and they mentioned Julian Bond and referred to our current government as close to "Nazism and White Supremacy" (applause, applause)One white male was on the panel and mentioned a racial slur that had been directed at Condi Rice (no one responded)

The group talked about how they can gain power by getting all registered and voting.

One member of the panel mentioned that Asian-Americans have more spousal abuse than Blacks.

Maybe they have more spouses. I'd bet violence against black women by black men is quite a bit higher than it is for Asian women by Asians.

Not at all. That the Confederate rebels were just as guilty as John Brown was never in question by any patriot -- Republican or Democrat -- but it was the policy of the Republican Party to be more merciful ("malice toward none" and all that) than the state of Virginia was with Brown. The only important Unionist politician who was calling for executions was Tennessee Senator and Military Governor then Vice President Andrew Johnson, a Democrat.

A couple of those "traitors" were pallbearers at Grant's funeral. Another "traitor" served the Republican party after the war in various other capacities. The GOP, your beloved party, disagrees with your views.

There was never any serious thought of placing surrendered rebels on trial, because again, the policy of the Republican Party was to allow captured rebels to just go home.

There's no way for a patriot to believe in the innocence of people who, in the 1860's or today, took up arms against the United States Government. I suppose that if tomorrow, some American Islamic militants were captured after attacking a U.S. Governemnt fort in, say, South Carolina, you would be shouting their innocence from the rooftops.
