Older people who eat fish at least once a week may cut their risk of Alzheimer's (search) by more than half, a study suggests.

The study adds to the evidence that diet may affect a person's chances of developing the mind-robbing disease that affects 4 million Americans.

Unless, of course, the fish contains the neurotoxin, mercury.

but it's very early and really we need to have a lot more studies,"
In other words, this report could be completely false. They report such findings, then retract them or alter them. I remember when caffeine caused cysts, then it was cancer, then it caused nothing, now it's responsible for headaches. Sheesh.

Another study to ignore as far as I'm concerned.

Even if they decide it is correct it will be disproved in a few years.

I will be Ronald Reagan ate fish. . .and we know he read and kept his mind active (for sure). . .and he exercised. . .

These little morsels of wisdom may be good news or they just may be good news for those who sell fish. . .books and exercise equipment.

Do remember reading that smoking cigarrettes may ward off alzheimers as well.

A family friend who lived into her nineties, smoked a cigarrette every night. She died, smart as a tack.

At $5 to $8 per lb. this discovery should price it out of sight.

I guess this means Hillary is immune.

She eats fish? I thought she ate small children.

There is also a study that says that people who play a musical instrument have a 60% lower chance of getting Alzheimers.

Uh-huh. And how does this mesh with the articles about the studies telling people to limit amount and kinds of fish they eat because of mercury? Tuna is one of the fish listed to limit due to concern over mercury poisoning.

Just make sure you don't cook your fish in aluminum cookware. Aluminum is suppose to cause/increase the risk of Alziemers

I eat a tin of these every day. Provided of course, that I am reminded. Seriously, these sardines are very good for you. Did I say I eat these everyday? I thought so.

Yes and sardines are low in mercury, all young small fish are, but the price per pound, whew, I also eat Goya, Beachcliff and Cento sardines for some variety.
