They view oppressive government control as a necessary evil needed to create an environment in which correct-thinking individuals will be nurtured. Once these correct-thinking individuals reach critical mass, the problems of society will magically go away, never to return. Spend some time talking to a liberal. Sound like you are taking them seriously and ask them to explain the nuances of their beliefs. It is great fun.

The reason that liberals feel entitled to other people's money via taxes and government is that they don't understand how to earn money or to produce something that other people would want to give them money for. They are all about ideas, not implementation. They wouldn't know how to actually earn money from someone voluntarily if their lives depended on it.

This is absolute bullsh!t. If this were the case, then why do liberals consistently support an agenda that is based entirely on the presumption that people cannot be trusted to act selflessly and in the public good (i.e., gun control, single-payer health care, etc.)?

You're looking at it wrong--the liberal idea is that man is naturally good and in his noble and natural environment ('ecosystem'), humans would act selflessly and in the public good. It is the unnatural elements like guns, wealth and better doctors that corrupt man. Therefore, access to those items must be restricted to prevent man from becoming selfish and individualistic.

Liberalism seeks not to allow each to rise to his natural ability, but to control the natural environment to lower all to an equal level of noble poverty.
