These don't look like "morgue" photos to me, given the pose of the heads and the material they're laying on. Maybe the pics were taken on the fly before being the thugs were taken to the morgue. Maybe taken by emergency med squad before arriving at the morgue.

There are more photos as yet unreleased, so maybe the quality will be better.

If we're disappointed with the quality, then everyone is. Howvever, I believe our government and the Iraqi council will have the job of telling their people "like it is".

Some bruising can happen post mortem but not much, the blood stops flowing so it can't get to the effected area to make a bruise (good ME's can spot areas that would have bruised if the person had been alive). Blueing around the eyes is pretty common though, from memory I recall it in at least 1/3 of the shots I've seen thumbing through my wife's books. I'd heard one of them took the gun in the mouth way out, could be that... bits... went into the eye cavity.
