Shut Up, Charlie
Washington Dispatch ^ | July 25, 2003 | Cathryn Crawford

Posted on 07/25/2003 6:37:22 AM PDT by Sparta

Poor Uday and Qusay. We all know how persecuted they were, and Charles Rangel, a Democratic (what a surprise!) representative from New York, is genuinely upset by their untimely passing at the hands of U.S. troops. "We have a law on the books that the United States should not be assassinating anybody," he grumbled Tuesday night on Hannity and Colmes. Well, Charlie, thanks so much for living up to your reputation. Charlie didn’t even vote for the resolution that simply supported the troops in Iraq. My question is, what is Charlie still doing holding office when he makes these stupid and unverifiable statements? It’s not a law, Charlie! It’s called an executive order, and it was signed by Gerald Ford. Don’t tell me that Charlie doesn’t know that. Any representative that will go on T.V. and make such an uneducated and unfounded statement deserves to be kicked out of office – if not for sheer stupidity, at least for ineptness. To go past that to the crux of the matter, however – Uday and Qusay were not assassinated, Charlie. They were given chance after chance after chance by the U.S. military to simply surrender and have their lives spared. They were given warnings that if they did not surrender they would be killed, and they chose to ignore these warnings. As a matter of fact, not only did they ignore the warnings, Charlie, they fired on the troops that were attempting to peacefully arrest them! But, for the sake of argument, let’s get Charlie’s perspective straight. According to him, the troops that were coming under direct fire from Uday, Qusay, and their bodyguards were not supposed to return fire. What is Charlie’s alternative? He doesn’t indulge us enough to detail that – I have my suspicions as to why – but let me try to guess. I suppose they could have attempted some sort of negotiation. I can hear the conversation now.

U.S. Commander: “Uday, Qusay, you have 10 minutes to come out of that building with your hands in the air and without any weapons!”

Uday: “Or what?”

U.S. Commander: “Or we’ll sit here till we get a message from Charlie Rangel telling us what to do next!”

I am so sick of listening to people – Democrats in general and Charlie Rangel in specific - gripe and moan and whine about what a crappy job the military is doing in Iraq. I’d love to see some of them over there, in their Armani suits and their fake khaki desert-shirts that they love to wear when they are slumming it in a Middle Eastern country – God knows why, I guess they think it makes them look less like idiots – and I’d love to see what kind of job they would do when faced with the enemy. Do they know, I wonder, how to shoot an M-16? Of course, we don’t want to mess up their manicures. We’d better not force them to do that. I suppose it could be classified as cruelty. Charlie would be a whole lot better off if he simply shut up and stopped making inane comments that only make him look like an idiot. If he really wants to serve this country, he could start by supporting the troops in a way that befits the veteran that he is. He, more than anyone, should be standing up in support of the U.S. military, instead of tearing it down continually as he has done for so long.

The Democrats are bearing out Ann Coulter's charge that they "root for America's enemies".

There is no question to my mind that the Democratic party has become a fifth column.

Sometimes, just when I think the democrats can't get any more stupid, they say something else to prove me wrong.

What Messr. Rangel said was not only stupid, but it also dishonors the men of the 101st Airborne, and all Coalition Forces who continue to risk their lives on a daily basis.

From what I understand, we had soldiers seriously wounded during that battle. Just where is Mr. Rangel's concern for our troops that were being fired upon?

Nope... Once again he has to use the moment to bash the President, and this administration, for continuing to carry out a policy that will defend our liberties and security, while bringing two murderous thugs to justice.

It appears that the Democratic leaders are just rudderless out there, with nothing to grab onto, so they become more shrill and meaningless.

Rush Limbaugh has always said that its fun to watch the Libs when they're without power. They become hysterical.

It appears that Charlie Rangel is too happy to prove his point!

There is no question to my mind that the Democratic party has become a fifth column.

Old-fashioned Democrats, like FDR, Truman and JFK must be spinning in their graves. Say what you will about the old-school Democratic Party when it came to domestic issues, but you couldn't touch these guys on national defense. They were all patriots, unlike the majority of today's "Blame America First" Dems.

Lord, God,

Could you possibly arrange for Charlie R . . . especially when he's pontificating on CNN . . . in mid-sentence perhaps . . .

a drum roll prefaced consuming of the rest of him by his super-mouth and then the POOF disappearance of his gargantuan mouth a la the Cheshire Cat in Alice's adventures ???? It would be soooooooooooo fitting, Lord.

Or

perhaps, when he's spewing manure if he just turned obvioiusly and fully into a stinking pile of it in living color--again--perhaps in the middle of the CNN newsroom.

or

perhaps as testimony of the traitorous snake he is . . . if snakes--say black ones--with the hammer and sickle patterned down their spines--if snakes started slithering out of every orifice until his body was reduced to a pile of slithering Commie snakes . . . preferably in the lap of say Boxer or Helen Thomas or, better yet--in a joint interview with Shrillery on CNN.

Or

perhaps in the midst of his ranting on CNN . . . he could just be consumed by worms--say maggots--a la the Roman ruler in the New Testament.

Or

perhaps he could be sentenced to sleeping with Shrillery for a night. That should at least shrivel what excuse for manhood he might have . . . and give him terminal nausea.

Or

perhaps he could be assigned to guard some rabid grissly bears in a remote region of Yellowstone somewhere--bathed in essence of steak.

. . .

Ah yes, Charles Rangel, more proof (as if any more were needed) that the majority* of New Yorkers are envious stupid idiots who are too dumb to realized that socialism and liberalism have always failed to do anything except empower and enrich the bureaucrats and apparatchicks. New York belongs philosophically to Communist China. Is there any way we could trade them NYC for Hong Kong?

* Majority of NYer elect idiots like Rangel, Schumer, Dinkins, Clintoon, etc.

I think we need an IQ (intellegence quotient) to vote and now, we clearly need an PQ (Patriotic quotient) to vote.
Also, we should monitor TVs and anyone watching Jerry Spring, Ricky Lake, MTV or the like should be disqualified from voting.
Then, this great republic might not have to suffer the election of fools like Charlie Rangel.

Just make sure to put on two hour specials for those shows right after dinner time. By then it would be too late for them to pry their lazy arses off the couch and the vote would radicaly shift in America.

Serious questions: How is that Rangel has been re-elected to Congress 16 times? Do you think he's stupid?

Could he even win once in your congressional district? What accounts for differences in political constituencies? Do you think his constituents are just not as intelligent as the the residents in your congressional district?

Why do different people view things so differently from one another?

Another great column, Cathryn!!

Simple answer to a complex question:

The public school system, under the control of the dems and all the extreme agenda groups, put their agenda ahead of education. If the kids are moderatly intellegent, they dispense with teaching reading, writing and computation skills and inculcate the kids with their views, "switches" if you will (depending on the kids' predilictions) such that the kids respond to emotions, rather than facts. That way, the kids (or young adults) are mobilized into action when the emotional appeals are sent out.

The smart kids are inculcated with their various agenda and groomed to become politicians, teachers and general run-of- the-mill troublemakers - the anti-America whiners of all sorts.

If the smart kids don't warm up their agenda, they do everything they can to "kill" them carrear wise. See the results of voicing a conservative opinion in college...

There are other factors, but, the public schools are definately a core problem.

Osauma Bin Rangle represents liberalism at its pathetic, squallid worst. "You guys didn't talk to Quetip and E-Bay. There was no search warrant. We can't have the 101st Abn flying around a combat zone and just shooting people w/o a search warrant."

It’s not a law, Charlie! It’s called an executive order,
... Don’t tell me that Charlie doesn’t know that.

These executive orders are simply printed in the Federal Register.
After 30 days, these orders become law and carry the full impact
of any laws passed by Congress.
