Kate Hudson: 'Of Course They Hate Us'
Newsmax.com ^ | 7-25-03 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 07/25/2003 11:37:50 AM PDT by Paul Atreides

If you're an American and you go near Kate Hudson, keep your mouth shut, and stay away from the condiments.

She's been filming her latest movie, "Le Divorce," in Paris, and she obviously prefers the company of Parisians to folks like us.

Since she's been in 'Gay Paree', Hudson has apparently grown accustomed to the somber qualities of the continental Europeans, rather than the happy-go-lucky character of real Americans.

In an interview, she said, "Sometimes I'll be walking down the street and I'll hear some American and I'll just go, 'Of course they hate us, of course they can't stand us.'"

Some American? Is she now excluding herself?

Mrs. Robinson continued: "We're the most annoying, boisterous creatures in the world. I mean we come in and we eat mounds of food, and we're like, 'Where's the kaachup [sic] for our French fries.' I'm like, 'Shut up!'"

Preferring one condiment to another on fries - say for instance gravy, as in Canada, or mayonnaise, as in Holland - is a sign of obnoxiousness?

We think not, Kate. We think that perhaps you should stay in France if you like it there, and we'll stay here and stop seeing your movies.

Oops! Judging from the box office results of "Alex & Emma," it looks like we already have!

Kate has a point. Many American tourists behave deplorably.

Yes, but "Almost Famous" was an excellent movie in my opinion. Haven't seen much else she has been in.

There's something about being in Europe that really brings out the self-loathing in some unsophisticated Americans. Mix in a little bit of snobbishness from Hollywood "royalty" and you have Kate Hudson.

Exaactly. I know a few people who think Goldie is cute and funny, and can't understand why I despise her. Gee, maybe its because of the spectacle she created by walking out of the Academy Awards when Elia Kazan was presented with a lifetime achievement award a few years ago. Goldie should go to hell and rot, or better yet, go to Paris and rot with Goldie Jr.

A lot of Canadians like salt and vinegar on their fries. Some even like relish on them. Some sicker ones like gravy, ketchup, and relish. And in Montreal there's a sausage joint (a much better place than you'd think) called Betters that makes a special mayonnaise that's just GREAT on fries (and has a spectacular selection of beers). Not that anyone should care.

Sounds like an airhead valley girl.

Maybe she will make more sense when her brain gets back from it's vacation.

Note to Kate's Brain - See what happens when you are not around, stupid things come out of this poor creatures mouth.

Well, I've lived in areas with a fair number of tourists (D.C. area, Williamsburg, Annapolis) and the French and German tourists are every bit as obnoxious as we supposedly are (and many of them really do smell disgusting), whereas the Brits are usually very jovial and polite.

If this is what is considered beautiful by todays standards, then give me an 80's or 90's look, anyday. I really dont like that Maxim look, those women look dirty and unkempt, the pictures wreak of urine.

Overall however, Kate is "cute" I'd say, and certainly looks better with her mouth shut.

Sounds like Ms. Kate is taking the Julia Roberts course on how to be lauded in Hollyweird. Julia spoke of Republicans as being between repulsive and repugnant and has been considered to be a very "in" Hollyweird type ever since. Clooney shoots his ignorant mouth off to such an extreme that it makes one wonder if what he is spouting is entertainment for the left or if he really is that stupid. Incidentally, I believe democrat is in the dictionary between demented and deranged.

The Black Crowes were one of the most talented, underrated bands of the 1990s. Chris Robinson's voice is perfect for rock and roll.

Robinson is also a Libertarian which has led Kate to comment about the number of firearms in their home being a little more than she'd prefer.

Howard Stern has been ranting about her little tirade for two days, playing it over and over again, screaming about what a spoiled Hollywood bitch she is.

It's been really funny to listen to. I thought he was going to bust a blood vessel in his head this morning.

American cultures tolerates, no, DEMANDS, being louder and more aggressive than what is considered polite in other cultures, so it's quite common for American tourists to come off as big-mouthed pushy jerks without meaning to or realizing it.

It certainly doesn't justify hatred though.

Sorry, you got the story wrong.

It was 1991, twelve years ago. You know, he would have been like 23 at the time. Secondly, he spit on the floor during a verbal altercation with a woman who was berating him and her friend who had recognized Chris and spoke.

He readily admits he was a jackass from time to time in his younger days. Hell, many people were and then matured.

Kate Hudson ready for maternity clothes Associated Press

NEW YORK - Kate Hudson loves to shop, so naturally she's looking forward to buying maternity clothes now that she's pregnant.

"I've been waiting for this moment," the actress tells InStyle magazine for its August issue. "I can't wait until it's time to find fun and stylish maternity wear. I'm actually more excited about dressing as a pregnant woman. You get to present something so completely female."

Hudson, 24, and her husband, former Black Crowes lead singer Chris Robinson, announced in June that they're expecting their first child. The baby is due sometime early next year.

"I can't wait to bring a little human being onto this planet!" Hudson tells the magazine. "When it happens, it will be the most beautiful thing in the world."

Yup, and a band that I have the upmost respect for due to them not comproimising their principles and giving into corporate sponsorship that they disagreed with. They gave up a almost certain long, lucrative career to play by their own rules. Heck, its hard to name another band in history of their popularity that ws kicked off a tour for talking down the sponsor.
