You can show me all the stats you want, but all those plants I listed WERE union plants that have SHUT DOWN. Or, in the case of IHF in Milton, nearly shut down. And I forgot about Paulsen Wire Rope in Sunbury, also a recent casualty. If you don't believe me, I'm sorry. Anyone who knows this area knows I speak the truth.

1. Erie does not a state make.
2. 'Statistics' mirror only the painted portrait requested by an interested (read: investing) client. Prime examples: drug manufacturers attempting to balance the books on research, FDA approvals, and marketing of the product. The dairy industry: thirty years ago milk and dairy products were going to kill us by clogging our arteries with cholesterol and a host of other terrifying
materials no one can remember. Now, once again, if you don't have a 'Got Milk?' mustache you're in danger of collapsing in a heap of osteo wreakage. This is called market manipulation among other things. There's the validity of your statistics and 'Source', kind sir.
3. Every one of the companies cited by 'somemoreequal...' were, in fact, union stronghold breeding grounds. This is FACT, kind sir. I cite pure FACT simply because my employer held the health care contracts on every last one of them. Every employee's name and personal data, their dependents' data, every red cent that company was ever worth, tax returns, articles of incorporation, who's in the forsaken union and who has the brains NOT to be in said forsaken union...I think I need not ramble further. 4.Every last one of those union cesspools has since slipped under the waves and every one of them supplied the reason for termination. ALL, kind sir, ALL of them indicated disruptions and subsequent operational losses, cut-backs, and 'funding problems' due to (irrational) union pressures.
5. Your 'Source', pontificating sir, is The Department of Insurance located in Harrisburg, PA. Should you care for the tollfree number to verify the above please don't hesitate to let me know.
6. Your beloved union thuggery, kind sir, has impacted thousands of families (not located in Erie, however). Impacting them with all the kindness and productivity of a cataclysmic, extinction-inducing meteor.
7. Small-mindedness did not build this great country, kind sir. nor shall the devolving, predatory unions.

I also provided a source link the to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics in reply #13 to back up my assertions.
If you have hard data to refute my position, post a link. Otherwise, shut your piehole.

It is a reprehensible action for an elderly gentleman to stoop to juvenile displays in a forum such as this. Piehole? Is that archaic English?

Disagree with me, fine. Don't accuse me of not having facts, sir. Willie Green is a socialist plant that takes FReepers for a ride
He is not interested in fact: he is only interested in swaying conservatives to his side by posting anti-corporate, anti-capitalist propaganda and doom-and-gloom "news" about our country. I am sorry to say, in some cases it works.
