New Play Toy!!! (Firearm)

New Play Toy!!! (Firearm)

Today I strolled into a local gunshop and much to my amazement I found a Steyr M40 (NIB) for $399.00. I’d always been interested in the Steyr ever since it came out specifically the smaller “s” series and more so the S357.

Well I just could not pass up such a good deal, I’ve seen this gun in shops down south, (GA, TN, SC) for as much as $519.00, so when I saw the $399.00 I had to have it.

Bought a pistol blanket for her, four boxes of Speer plinking ammo and some .40 cal cleaning supplies (bore brush, pads etc…) as this is my first 40.

Shot it already and WOW!!!

Accurate, once you get use to the “trapezoid” sites, trigger is short, very short and crisp, nice break around 5 pounds.

It is a very tight gun, first time I tried to apply the manual safety I couldn’t, took three or four tries now it moves just as the manual says it should, with two fingers.

I will most likely buy a tac-lite for this and a .357 barrel, and (pray) once the AWB goes away I’ll get me a few “normal capacity” mags for it (12 rounds) and then she’ll make a rather nice beside the bed gun.

It’s so nice to be able to buy a gun in a gun friendly state!

Congrats on your new acquisition. Interesting rake on the grip, how's it point?

Wild Bill is a local here where we are. I've got a belt slide, a belt and a nice horsehide pocket holster that sees daily use from Bill.

No, No.  The "kill everybody in the room" gun is the Ingram MAC 10, also known as the "room broom."

the AK-47 is for firing off indiscriminate random bursts at "who the hell cares."

The "kill everybody in the room" quote is Samuel L. Jackson in "Jackie Brown" (I think). I even saw the video "Chicks with Guns" advertised in the back of a gun mag a while back.

"And, for those times "when you absolutely, positively have to kill every mother f***er in the room...accept no substitute"

lol...That is an almost verbatim of the Ingram advert copy - circa 1968. (in case you are not familiar, Ingram MAC 10 brought into service with the motto...When you have to kill every person in the room without making a lot of noise - Use Ingram"...of course this was with a Sionics Suppressor in place)

I probably can't buy it. I probably would have to provide the federal government with a complete autobiography in order to buy cartridges. I probably would have very few chances to fire it legally. I CERTAINLY couldn't be able to use it to protect my life or property. But Para still makes a heck of gun (for Americans to enjoy).

The aquisition of a new firearm is always a good thing.

Taking it to the range for the first time is always an adventure.

Quite nice!

Here are a few of my toys...

S&W 625-5, .45ACP... Mine took a little trip to Gravios Mills, MO, to see Mr Ron Power for an action job!

Warren Moore of KCMO made this S&W 57 (.41 Mag) the sweetest shooting revolver I've ever had!

My Power Custom Grand Master 629! Wow!!!

If I remember correctly, it was Jeff Cooper who said that a handgun is what you use to shoot your way back to your rifle!

That's a Taurus. Nice for the price, or so I've been told.

Anyone have an opinion on the CZ 75 series? I'm thinking about getting the 75 compact. I'd splurge on the USP, but that's out of reach.

Ma Deuce will do the job, but she's a little hard to conceal, even under a full tuxedo with tails and tophat. :)
