[history]
Sen. John Edwards, North Carolina Democrat and 2004 presidential hopeful, is four months delinquent in paying the property taxes on his Georgetown mansion and owes the cash-strapped District more than $11,000, city records show.
Mr. Edwards is worth somewhere between $12 million and $30 million after a successful career as a personal injury lawyer, according to his financial disclosure forms. He bought the eight-bedroom, 6,672-square-foot home in the tony neighborhood for $3.8 million in September.

Reminds me the late Harold Washington Mayor of Chicago.
When a Congressman he "forgot" to pay his income taxes.
Guess when the late mayors birthday was?
Bingo.

There seems to be a discrepancy here....
As of 3:30 p.m. yesterday, Mr. Edwards owed $11,092.46 with interest and penalties, according to the city's tax collection office.
The senator and his wife, Elizabeth, "had not received a bill. As soon as they received one, they paid it," the statement says.

The District was forced to cut funding for public education and a wide array of city services.
Shame on you, John! You are depriving the children of D.C. of a good education!
Won't you PLEASE pay your taxes... for the children?!?

THE NEW YORK SLIMESALL THE NEWS THAT FITS OUR AGENDA
As I recall, Dinky Davey did not even bother file a federal income tax return for three (3) count 'em, three (3) years at all

He also falsely reported his income while he was mayor of New York City and was getting rent controlled subsized housing rates on his large luxury apartment for a few hundred a month when he should have been paying over $2800 a month
This for a multi millionaire who played tennis while minorities rioted and killed innocent citizens because Dinky wanted to let them vent

The above pic is from the website of the guy who is trying to get his picture taken with all the Dem candidates, who he then proceeds to trash on his site (www.ninedwarfs.com). Pretty funny stuff. Dunno why, but his pic with Edwards makes me think of the George Thorogood song:
I was a rebel from the day I left school,
grew my hair long and broke all the rules
I'd sit and listen to my records all day,
with big ambitions of where I could play
My parents taught me what life was about,
so I grew up the type they warned me about
They said my friends were just an unruly mob,
and I should get a haircut and get a real job
Get a haircut and get a real job,
clean your act up and don't be a slob
Get it together like your big brother Bob,
why don't you get a haircut and get a real job
To: Howlin
I love it to. There is a reason why you don't run for president your first 6 years in the Senate. It is b/c you are a rookie, and you make rookie mistakes.

Hey, thanks for telling us about that web site! It is really funny, and the guy is a pretty good political reporter. He does have some of the most amazingly ugly shirts I have ever seen, however. HA!

"Anything that calls attention to his wealth will not be helpful to him." Which explains why a compliant liberal media is so reluctant to mention wealth when it comes to Democrats.

Hope y'all are doing well! We are leaving for vacation to Nags Head next Saturday.
To: fieldmarshaldj
No, Edwards can say he was late because "of the children." He can say he was trying to determine what charities he should support "for the children." Of course, we don't pay taxes on what we PLAN to contribute to a charity. So maybe that one wouldn't fly.

John just waited until he owed substantial penalties before paying the taxes, because he knew how strapped for funds the District was and wanted to help out.
