Since you are attempting to be active, I hate to be discouraging. Boycotts are seldom effective. I admit it was fun to bash the infuriating and knavish French; I even admit to the relish I took in waving that bloody flag. The Dixie Chicks will never enjoy the success they would have if they had kept their mouths shut.

But both the French and the Chicks are still in business.

How to buy without buying outsourced materials...impossible.

What we can do is face W--

"Your family tradition puts a great deal of emphasis on personal loyalty. You are not being loyal to the taxpaying, hardworking, dutiful voting citizens of the United States. These are the ones who send their sons to the Middle East, and bury them at home. Why do you court the favor of foreigners and lawbreaking invaders? Why, W?"

interested in keeping the list of companies and people who want to help protest?

Save yourself some time (and heartache) and write about companies you want to support.

Both parties SCREWED the USA!

While passing NAFTA and GATT, they told us that we should focus on the higher paying high tech jobs. It was okay to let all our textile and industrial jobs go to other countries because we had all these great paying high tech jobs.

What's happened since the passing of NAFTA and GATT?

(1) Our textile and industrial jobs have gone or are leaving. Did you hear that great big sucking sound of our jobs leaving?

(2) The NASDQ is about 25% of where it used to be. Most of the over hyped high-tech money was in the NASDQ. There's not much money in high tech anymore. High tech is heading the way of the calculator. Calculators just don't cost much anymore. There's no money in them just like there won't be much in tech jobs in the future. In addition, these few jobs are being outsourced to people in other countries.

Both parties have screwed the USA! I am afraid that one day we'll have our citizens moving to Mexico, India and China to find work.

The American people are going to have to make both parties accountable for the way they have screwed this nation.

In Bushes speeches, he talks about the important of "creating jobs."

Wal Mart greeter.
Drive-through cashier.
Pizza delivery guy.
The opportunities will be endless....

And I guess we can always work for the government. That's always a growth industry.

How about this… Boycott and protest companies outsourcing as well as put together a petition to W letting him know our votes go with the issue.

A senior US official has said Washington is against any attempt by state governments to legislate a ban on outsourcing on the lines of what is being considered in New Jersey and other states.

Who gets the assurances from this administration? India? India?

It's a good thing I'm far from a one-issue voter.

"Lets see for starters EEOC ( affirmative action ), OSHA, EPA, Social Security taxes. It is great the Federal Government does not interfere with American Business."

I am inclined to agree with you.

However, this outsourcing move could very well be the undoing and the downfall of America, as we know it.

With many of the technical jobs moving offshore, and now talk of the white-collar jobs going too, who is going to be left with any money to purchase the goods and services they produce?

Many of the thousands of jobs that are moving to India and elsewhere, also affect other businesses and jobs that were supporting it in the first place.

Mexico does not allow foreigners to work on their economy, neither does Australia; they watch after their people FIRST...the neo-Amerika seems to watch after everyone else BUT Americans.

I have been fully supportive of Bush and everything he has done, but the immigration issue, and the offshore job issues are causing me to re-think my support. I may sit out the next election also.

You name it. My wife was sucked up into this 14 months ago whe Cap Gemini Earnst & Young began outsourcing to India. She now works at Linnens and Things (who outsource their credit approval call center).

One program engineer she worked with is selling cell phones in a pavillion at a mall. Her old asset manager is working in a sub shop and driving a limo at night.

Great job creation W. I will be MORE than GLAD to help in any way I can.

I need someone to setup a webpage where we can put in names and addresses, so we can start sending out emails on whom to boycott, etc. I have a couple of people who said they have the webserver but haven't heard anything since.

I have a different take on this. I don't think this represents any sort of long-term decision by the administration. I think it's election maneuvering...

So how big is Bush's "Indian base" or are we depending on absentee ballots from Delhi to win the next election?

I lack the technical savvy to do this but will be willing to donate to help get the page up as well as help on any fund raising and PR efforts.

So how big is Bush's "Indian base"

Its very few: the execs of IBM, Microsoft, GM, American Express, and anyone else that offshores jobs. Course they have a little more dollars to spend than you and I.

I wonder why they don't outsource all those dumb American managers who created these problems in the first place. With their 0/20 vision, cronyism, and corrupt practices, American management needs to be replaced, not the American worker.

Wow, witty comeback.

For the record, I don't think companies should be outsourcing IT jobs to India. It's counter-productive, and hopefully, the market will eventually self-correct.

That said, the absolute last thing that any of us should want is more government intervention in the hiring/firing process. Trying to get a law to stop a business from doing something you don't like is more appropriate for a whiney liberal (see: affirmative action policies) than for conservatives or libertarians.
