I've wondered how things might have been different if Patton hadn't been reined in or if he was in charge of Market-Garden. Patton wouldn't have been so dumb. Montgomery had brave men around him and was lucky at El Alamein, the proof of his bafoonery was his convoluted Market-Garden plan.
