General Motors Contributes $2.5 Million To National Council Of La Raza
Funds Devoted to Build National Headquarters for NCLR, and for Partner Hispanic Organizations
New York, NY - The National Council of La Raza and General Motors jointly announced today a $2.5 million GM contribution to the National Council of La Raza's "Empowering an American Community Campaign." The funds will go specifically to purchase a centrally-located building in Washington, D.C. The building will serve as the organization's headquarters. The NCLR will also work to house partner Hispanic organizations in the building, including member organizations of the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility.
The National Council of La Raza was established in 1968 to reduce poverty and discrimination, and improve life opportunities for Hispanic Americans. NCLR works toward this goal through capacity-building assistance to support and strengthen Hispanic community-based organizations along with applying research, policy analysis and advocacy.
"We're very grateful to receive this generous gift from a long-term partner such as General Motors. These funds will play a critical role in our institutional building, allowing our organization to do a better job reaching our communities," commented Raul Yzaguirre, President of NCLR. "The contribution is also a milestone in terms of corporate investment in our communities to build a strong Latino legacy in this great country."
"General Motors is a proud partner of the National Council of La Raza in advancing its mission to help all Hispanic Americans achieve their American dream. Our donation to the Empowering An American Community Campaign is part of GM's long-term commitment to the large and growing Hispanic community that has contributed so much to our business and our nation," commented Rick Wagoner, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of General Motors Corporation.
NCLR is the largest national Hispanic civil rights organization, serving all Hispanic nationality groups in all regions of the country. NCLR has over 300 formal affiliates who together serve 40 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia, along with a broad network of more than 30,000 groups and individuals nationwide. NCLR is headquartered in Washington, D.C. with field offices in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Chicago, San Antonio and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

La Raza = The Race. Hmmmm. Racism? Didn't La Raza want to take California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas back to Mexico. Why is GM supporting them?

"Hispanic" is not a racial category. La Raza is a group of devisive political opportunists that ostensiably represents Meztizo Mexicans living in the U.S. of A. Other Mexicans are white (blancos) and indians (indios) and a smaller numbear of blacks and asians.
La Raza much be following the path of Jessie's Rainbow Coallition holding up corporations for big bucks.

General Motors Contributes $2.5 Million To National Council Of La RazaHmm, I wonder if General Motors is planning to contribute money to any other well known racist organization, such as the KKK or the White Aryan Nation.

"General Motors is a proud partner of the National Council of La Raza in advancing its mission to help all Hispanic Americans achieve their American dream...." Rick Wagoner, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of General Motors Corporation. Translation: "We're being held hostage by Mexican Separatists, so we are going to give them a pile of cash so they can take over the SouthWestern United States and maybe leave us alone!"
Back in the 50s, it used to be said, "What's good for General Motors, is good for the USA!"
No more. We've come a Loooooong way, Baby!
Bullsh!t! My next car will be a Ford or Toyota. I'm not going to help pay protection money to foreigners who want my country!

Wow. A $300 piece of junk with $100,000 worth of stolen accessories, probably owned by a border-jumping East L.A. vato living in a smelly illegally converted garage with 38 of his favorite 'undocumented' family members and dealing cocaine for the Arrelano Felix cartel. How utterly... 'cholo'.
No mas GM junk. Most of it is either made in or assembled in that filthy rathole down south anyway. Way to go, Jorge.... your NWO economy is 'muy bien'.

No GM here. 2 Chrysler products one Honda and a Ducati.

Looks to me like the La Raza clan has taken a page out of the jessi jackson shakedown playbook. Are all these corporate 'bigboys' such wet noodles, or are even they infiltrated by the America-hating crowd?

>>Toyota paid 700 million dollars in tribute to Jesse Jackson.
Interesting side note on that. When we FReeped (now ex-)Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (C - Cuba and Sub-Saharan Africa) in May of 2002, she had four "heavies" all decked out in dark suits that showed up in advance of her arrival.
They arrived in a very new-looking Toyota Land Cruiser, which is a $50k+ vehicle.
While we of course had no proof about where that might have originated, we sure did have our suspicions. And I won't be buying any Toyotas or Lexuses (Lexi?) any time soon.

You nailed this one right-on!!
La Raza is the hispanic wing of the Jesse Jackson shakedown crowd.
To: wunderkind54
Thank you.
But some language clarification is needed, and it's hard when the liberal press etc owns so much of the language.
Hispanics are comprised of many races. La Raza objects to being called hispanic--they are Mexicans in the US and are of mixed white and indidan (Mestizo) descent. They feel that "hispanic" robs them of their identity.
Imagine if all the racial and ethnic groups of the US were lumped together as the "gringo race."
