[history]
Bill Clinton's socialite pal Denise Rich (search) disguised a $2,000 donation to Hillary Rodham Clinton by coercing her record promoter to make the contribution and later reimbursing him, a new $30 million legal suit charges.
The promoter, Jimmy Hester (search), who filed the federal lawsuit in Manhattan yesterday, is now at the center of the FBI's long-running criminal probe into the circumstances surrounding Clinton's last-minute presidential pardoning of Rich's ex-husband, Marc Rich (search), The Post has learned.

Well, how will this look for Hillary's presidential ambitions? Won't affect it at all. Laws do not apply to Democrats, and the media will pretend this didnt happen anyhow.

Bush states the truth in the SOTU, Democrats bash him for weeks, and it's all on the front pages and lead ins for news, claiming he lied.
Clintons break the laws on a continuing basis, the media pays no attention.
As you said, laws don't apply to Democrats, so they think.
I would just love it, if they could actually prove a direct connection to Hillary. She could get a cell next to Traficant.
To: FairOpinion
given that the press will never ask her about these things, the only question anyone should ask about her is 'what qualifications does she have to be president?'... that she be enough to disqulify her

She has 8 years of experience. Who do you think was the real president? Bill was busy with the interns.
To: FairOpinion
Well, how will this look for Hillary's presidential ambitions? No efect whatsoever. To get the queen bee (in Machiavellian terms, to topple the prince), one would need MUCH more than this. Look what X42 got away with, for crying out loud. Hitlery! will dodge this one without breaking a sweat. Now if GW would care to use FBI info, then that would be different. But GW is a wimp.
To: FairOpinion
According to the FEC he did make the donation
HESTER, JAMES
NEW YORK, NY 10003
CLINTON, HILLARY RODHAM
VIA HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON FOR US SENATE COMMITTEE INC
11/24/1999 1000.00 20020040405
11/24/1999 1000.00 20020040405
Now he needs to prove she put him up to it.
To: FairOpinion
I think conservative websites talk about Hitlery running for President more than the Pro-Democratic ones do.

Supposedly she reimbursed him, but she was probably smart enough to do it in cash, so he can't prove it.

Denise Rich herself, donated $648,500 to the DNC.

She just must have simply cared a lot.
I notice that in 1999 when Jimmy Hester made his donation she only made $85,000 while in '98 and '00 she gave $292,000 and $271,500 respectively. Of course 1999 was not an election year. But, more importantly, I do not see a single donation by her to an individual. You would think that someone throwing that much money around would make at least one contribution to an individual.

"...Well, how will this look for Hillary's presidential ambitions?..."Unless the democRAT party has a sudden vision of future reality, and removes the 'klintoon-lock' on the DNC, this item won't mean sh!t.
She's on her run for 2004, and anyone who gets in her way will die...........FRegards

Hillary will use this opportunity to promote government funding for HIV research, and the need for further campaign raising. Her chief funders the "lawyers club" will cover her lying behind and it will be called a continuation of the "VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY", who are now trying to set her up.
Which administration does the FBI now work for?
There will be no evidence that Hillary knew anything about what the former Mrs. Rich was doing and of course the Mrs. Rich is not Hillary's friend but a friend of "BILL's".
To: FairOpinion
I'd like to say I'm shocked..I'd like to but I can't.
Even if she's going to run this time(which I doubt) this will have no effect, as it will never really see the light of day. and by 08 it will be old news.

You're right about the media ignoring it. Maybe if they thought this was about Denise Richards instead of Da-Knees Rich they would bite the "sexy angle" and pay attention.

Rich's spokesman, Howard Rubenstein, declined to comment yesterday as Rich and her lawyer had not seen the legal papers. Rich is traveling overseas.

Turn up the heat on Denise and who know what might pop out in the plea bargaining session? Maybe the Toon should start travelling overseas too. Do I hear the sound of slowly grinding wheels of justice?

Wasn't there a similar case where an employer was found to have reimbursed his employees for their donations to the DNC?

Forget employer --I think that's what happened when the nuns, who took a vow of poverty were donating thousands of dollars to Gore. I forgot who was reimbursing them.
The Dems talk big about campaign reform, but it turns out they are the ones who were mostly surviving on BIG donations, so they have to resort to this kinds of illegal tactics to raise money.
And how many other employees of Denise Rich were coerced to do the same?

Mark Jimenez was extradited from the Philippines last year and just plead guilty to illegal campaign contributions to the Dems (along with other charges). He had employees make contributions for which they were reimbursed. Federal court in Florida is handling the case.
To: FairOpinion
Read about this in today's paper. Very interesting turn of events.
To: Maria S
How did you get all of that contribution info? How did you know where to look? Thanks, Just go to the Federal Election Commission website.
You can search by contributor, committee, or candidate. There is also an advanced search option where you can search individual contributors by company, state, city, date, etc. These features are all pretty new. You used to either have to go down to the FEC headquarters and print up all the data and hand enter it or you could download huge tables conatining all of the contributions. You can still do all that but with the new web search you don't need to.

Do you think she was fool enough to pay him back with a check?

Do you think she was fool enough to pay him back with a check? If she did, then she might be in big trouble. Even if she didn't there might be cash withdrawels that correspond with the dates of various contributions to Hillary. The only problem is that it still doesn't prove the contributions for pardon deal. I am not sure how they could prove that.
To: Bogey78O
Was't there a similar case where an employer was found to have reimbursed his employees for their donations to the DNC?IIRC, there was such a case in an Arkansas attorneys' office.

How will this look? Have you seen the media spending 24/7 on this as they did Bush making a perfectly acceptable remark about something British intelligence said ? This would be shouted from the housetops if it involved a republican, but because it is yet another campaign fraud by the Clinton's, it will be kept in their "zone of privacy" reserved only for Bill and Hill.
We knew it!!!
