I took this picture of our daughter when we visited Galveston in March.
All these posts and pictures make me miss my sister in Texas
:( but it is a treat to see so many

Thanks for posting those lyrics, Cal.
When my Grandmother died in 1943, we took the train to Texas. My Mother often told the story of my 4 year old sister singing 'Deep in the Heart of Texas' to the delight of the other passengers. I'm not sure if they got sick of hearing it or not. LOL

I took one look at that picture and could tell it was taken off I-10. We took that highway from Kerrville to San Antonio all the time.
Beautiful thread as always. The Hill Country is my favorite part of Texas too.

I was struck by the supposedly impossible coexistence of industry and nature.
The coast makes some nice pictures, but I feel like I'm abusing my camera when I get it out in the salty sea air. UGH!
