On Wednesday, August 6th, 2003, Her Royal Heinous Hillary Rodham Clinton (HRH HRC) came to Seattle to sign copies of her book, Living History. Of course, this being a Clinton affair nothing was exactly as it seemed, and so it is necessary to dot the 'i's, cross the 't's, define "is" and set the record straight. The signing wasn't in Seattle...

Many, many thanks to:
FReeper BobJ ("Bob J"?) for the FreeRepublic Network (FRN) which supplied the banner and the Clinocchio costume, FReeper Doctor Raoul of the (excellent and highly active) Chapter of Free Republic from "the Other Washington" (D.C.) who supplied the, um, "toasty" devil's head and sign.
And of course thanks to Puget Sound Chapter FReepers Chad Fairbanks, LibreOuMort, Arbor Guy and Libertina for turning out, and a very hearty welcome to those who turned out today and are joining FreeRepublic as a result! -Eala

My 'After-action' Report for the Hillary Book Signing FReep...
I showed up at about 10:15 (fifteen minutes later than I had planned, but let us not discuss that), and was immediately contacted by others in the parking lot - They asked if I was a FReeper, to which I replied in the affirmative. They were "...glad to see the FReepers come out", and they were members of the KVI 570th Cavalry. We went around front where we were to meet, where I joined up with Libertina, LibreOuMort, Arbor Guy and eala - other people were there, none that I knew, who had shown up after hearing about the event on the radio.
I had three signs that I brought - "ASK HILLARY ABOUT JUANITA", "WILL PARDON TERRORISTS FOR VOTES", and "WATCH FOR LOW-FLYING BROOM". Since I was busy helping to hold up the "AMERICAN CAN'T TRUST HILLARY" banner (Thanks, Bob J!!), I made my signs available to others who were attending. Eala spent most of the day wearing the Devil mask, sweating in the hot sun, holding the "I SOLD MY SOUL TO HILLARY" sign. Libertina was wearing the Clintochio Mask.
During the course of the day, I counted 8 extended middle fingers from drivers, and a "Bronx Cheer" from a little old lady. Support for our position was running about 3 to 1. For every three gestures of support, we received 1 gesture of annoyance. What was highly noticable was that none of the people who were against us looked even remotely happy, while those who supported us were smiling and happy.
We were joined during the day by several teenagers, who seemed to enjoy themselves, although they did get a little rambunctious at times. Another woman and her daughter showed up, along with a cardboard cutout of George W. Bush. It was good to see the young kids come out and get involved.
One woman who was driving by stopped her car, pointed at the FRN Banner and ordered us to take it down because it was "rude", another woman stopped her car and told us "Hillary is the best thing that ever happened to me" (I shuddered at the sadness of that statement). Another individual drove by and yelled "Why dont'you all go to Texas, that's where all the other a$$holes are!".
One woman was coming out of the parking lot, and was slowly making her way around the corner, when she held up her signed copy of Lying HerStory - so I asked her if it was her "cross for warding off Good."
I was interviewed by KOMO News Radio 1000, by a very hostile reporter. I was asked a series of loaded questions, which I answered as best as I could. For example, when she asked "Why do you dislike Hillary?", I replied that it wasn't that I disliked her, I just didn't trust her. When asked what my opinion of her book was, I replied that "It is a Weapon of Mass Distortion". Other media outlets that showed up were Q-13 Fox, News Tribune, Everett Herald, and a Latin Newspaper, the name of which I forge, which interviewed a spanish-speaking man who had shown up.
During the FReep, I heard some minor commotion behind me, and I noticed a man harrassing one of the elderly ladies who was attending this event. He was confronting her, giving her a hard time, and I saw that she was very nervous and uncomfortable. Myself and another individual got this guy's attention and he was led away from her. Of all the people he chose to target, he chose the defensless one, whom he apparently felt he could intimidate. It was a sickening display, and it was only through the most amazing display of restraint that the other guy was able to control his temper when dealing with this leftist.
Later, there was some commotion down in the Book Signing Line, as police escorted an individual down along the line and made him remove his "NO LANDMINES" sign from the event - apparently this guy figured "The rules don't apply to me". I bet he was shocked when he was escorted away. "WHa...? Why is this happening to me?".
Around 1:00 PM, when the event was scheduled to be over, we thought about going out to lunch, but decided that we shoudl stick around and hope to get a glimpse of the Hillary Motorcade. We were in luck, as Hillary's Motorcade drove by us as she was leaving - within a few feet of the curb we were standing on. She was in the lead vehicle, looking at us, the signs, and the Devil who has been following her, and she was wearing sunglasses and a scowl that could break rocks...
After the FReep, we headed off to Cocoa's for lunch, with some of the other people who had come to the event - guys we hope will soon become FReepers. One of the guys videotaped the entire FReep, which hopefully we will get a copy of soon. On our way to Cocoa's, we were stopped by a Bicycle Cop who thanked us for being so well-behaved.
The people who attended this event today were clever, funny, and seemed to really have a good time - there were so many clever one-liners in response to the liberals, that I wish I could remember even half of them. I'll let others tell their version of events, as I'm sure I missed a lot...

I wish I could remember all the hilarious one liners. All I can say is tha the guys were knocking them out of the ball park! This was an example. After the guy yelled this, one of the men yelled back, "Not ALL of them, YOU'RE HERE!" ROTFLOL

The wonderful young lady, Tracie, with President Bush (and her mom) are not FReepers yet, but have been at almost all of the patriot rallies. I always recognize her cute stars and stripes jammy pants :) She just loves the President, and her shirt reads "I Love President Bush." Because she was rather young the liberal press kept picking her out for interviews, perhaps it was "easy." But she did a fine job. She is just precious. Two other gentlemen, not pictured yet (Eala?) will sign up for our chapter tomorrow. So we are a growing group!

BTTT No, Hillary did not like the devil - although they must be well aquainted ;)
Low Flying Broom warning.... LOLChad Fairbank's children made some wonderful signs... Wish they could have joined us, though it was a long day. Both KVI and KTTH radio were kind enough to advertise our FReep often. Kirby Wilbur and John Carlson called out the "570th Cavalry" - their action listeners, who helped us fill the ranks. We are getting to be a group of friends now, recognizing each other at these events. Being Wednesday, most people were working. One funny thing happended when an enraged lib drove by and yelled out "GET A JOB!" To which the three of us he was addressing called back just as quickly
"Got one!
Got one!
Got one!
LOL This ticked him off even MORE! ;) We felt much better afterwards :)
To: Libertina
Thanks for the ping! You all represented Washington very well...thank you!
Eala spent most of the day wearing the Devil mask, sweating in the hot sun, holding the "I SOLD MY SOUL TO HILLARY" sign.
Poor Eala! Did anyone get a photo of the photog?
To: Libertina
You guys did great - so nice you're all standing in a group! Much more impact! I love the signs. I need to get to an art store and get a lettering thingy so we can do a better job with our signs.
Glad the stuff arrived at 7:24 this morning!!

Another very rat-like incident was at the very beginning of the FReep. We were asked to move from in front of the book store to the street. When KIRO 7 News and KOMO 4 vans drove by, they ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT MAKE EYE CONTACT with us. LOL They couldn't help but see us, but they would not turn their heads. Of course they also couldn't help themselves later and came to do interviews.
To: Libertina
What's so funny to me is that when the people yelling "get a job" were doing the protesting, that's what we used to yell at them .. LOL!!

BTTT One other heartwarming little scene happened when two women who worked for , came out and got their pictures taken with the young lady and the President bush cut-out! LOL They were not Hillary fans ... Then later, one lovely long-haired woman stode out vey purposely to us. She walked over to one person in our group and said, "I just wanted to shake your hand." Then she turn around and strode back to the mall. We never knew who she was, but even our small efforts made big impacts on people.

Oops, missed something in my HTML coding there. The two women who had their pictures taken actually worked for Third Place Books. They liked President Bush. :)
To: Libertina
Yes, I remember when thet woman came over - we were all wondering about that :0)
That's why when the lady from KOMO asked me "How do you explain all the people waiting to get a book signed by her, then?" I told her that it was more than likely that people just wanted to get the autograph of a famous public figure - whether they like or dislike her...

Better than KING 5 did. (I couldn't believe they gave airtime to that crying, star-struck nut.)
Very typical - they come out, talk to you for fifteen minutes, and put you on the air for fifteen seconds (if that). Did any other TV stations talk to you guys?
Looked like a pretty good-sized group there, and I could see one of your munchkins' signs. : )

Good job!
I watched for you all on the nightly news but all they showed were interviews with Hillary "psychophants" drooling and peeing their pants with adoration for the Witch.
They also showed a clip of Hitlery giving her speech at Patty Moron's fundraiser. Her speech was a diatribe against Bush. The announcer gushed that she sounded like a presidential candidate, and in fact, had stated that if she ran, she'd start her campaign in Seattle. Major HURL!

Before I go to bed, I want to mention two more well-thought out comments from liberals who were driving by - one guy yelled and asked "DId they find the weapons of mass destruction yet?" to which most of us pointed at the store and said "She's in there..."
THe second mature comment was "Take Bish and shove him!"

From
KOMO website:
SEATTLE - She was introduced as the U.S. Senator from New York and she got an ovation like a returning hero. Washington state was Bill Clinton country, and today - at least at the Westin Hotel - it was Hillary country.
The crowd expected Bush bashing, and they got it:
"This is a radical, reactionary administration," said Clinton.
She spoke to a Democratic crowd well aware of high unemployment, and skeptical of Bush tax cuts: "It is a bad deal for America, this administration needs to be convinced of that by removing them from office in November of 2004," said Clinton. Her words drew a standing ovation.
90 minutes later, in a bookstore, Clinton said she loves coming to Seattle. At least 1,000 people lined up outside Third Place Books for a chance to meet the former first lady, and get her autograph on a copy of her best seller "Living History."
Clinton spent about 15 seconds with each person in a wheelchair, and just 6 seconds with the average book buyer.
Here they want to talk about Hillary and the Presidency: "I think she's very charismatic and I'd vote for her for President," said Jacque Collitt. "I certainly think I agree with her more than not."
Clara Martin, 16, agrees. "Oh, I think it would be awesome ... She would be an amazing woman president."
"Republicans have tried everything they can to trash her and Bill. But she's got the best of them and still comes out a winner," said Ted Perry.
Whatever her political aspirations, Hillary Clinton won today with a huge book signing and proof she can still draw a crowd.
To: MeeknMing
Great pictures! Some thought only her laugh was infectious, but looks like she having trouble doing stand-up nowadays.
