Tom McClintock Ping List

Posted on 08/09/2003 1:06:15 PM PDT by Rabid Dog

I'm going to start a Tom McClintock ping list. Will be used to get out info on Tom's campaign efforts/results. No Tom/Arnold RINO/FRINGE baiters please. You know who you are. Save your arguments - I'm not even sure I'm going to vote for Tom yet but I am interested in keeping my eye on him.

You can add me. (I don't quite know how that works.) I'd be happy with either McClintock or Schwarzenegger, so the bickering sorta leaves me cold anyway!

Add me to your list.

Tom is the best choice, and maybe the last real chance for a true conservative to be Governor of Ca.

Count me in.

After reading McClintock's pro-second amendment speech, it is apparent that this is a man who has a fundamental understanding of the principles that made this country what it is.

He's the only one who's offering any of the solutions which will actually do CA any good...unlike his opponents who are mouthing just so much more leftist tripe.

Has Tom McClintock commented on one of the biggest problems facing California, i.e., the continued benefits, schooling and social services to illegal aliens which is costing us billions? I've searched his webistes and don't find a word about it. I can't even find anything about his border stance. Did he believe in California's Proposition 187?

Sounds good! Got the black bean salad and potato salad made. Kayeyedoubledee and Val E. Girl just confirmed they are coming. And the thong bathing suit is packed and ready to go! Still have room in the car for two more freepers - leaving Camarillo at 9:30 am.

Tom McC is the smartest and most rational politician in Calif (maybe the US) today. I wish the rest of the state knew about him.

Arnold is a RINO -- and a lefty RINO to boot!

Ping me in.

OOops -- just reread the thread rules. OK, Arnold is a WINO (Westerner in name only).

Sorry for the confusion.

Also, check out the latest poll results reported on Drudge, where McClintock is already in third place behind Arnold and Bustamonte. If the Simon people would get behind someone who would actually win, we'd be above Bustamonte already.

GO TOM GO!

Yes I have, however I do not call these people conservatives. You said conservatives will attack you. I challenge you to show me a real conservative that supports Arnie and attacks people for not supporting him. Remember these are the same people who attacked us for supporting Simon last year, they are NOT, I repeat, they are NOT conservatives.

I don't think that's fair. Conservatives can differ greatly over tactics, to where it gets pretty out of hand.

I think everyone who supported Simon over Davis last time have been proven correct.

I started out for the recall in McClintock's camp. I am now not quite sure-- I forget what Freeper it was but someone made a really persuasive argument a while back about how the recall was a bad thing. It actually happened- on Free Republic, someone changed someone's mind. I am not convinced that the conservative side is helped by a Republican win right now-- I think it is more likely that whoever wins will get crap done and will get blamed for things he had no control over.

That is why right now I am tinkering with saying the best vote is for Uebberoth. I'm not sure where he is socially, but his economic proposals look ok to me, and as an independent if it does not work he doesn't shoot down the party.

And I remain convinced that the party is the best chance we have to make political change.

Well, I agree with you to an extent on that. But there are a group of people who had ``conservative'' beliefs, a few weeks ago, but have been blinded by the light. And I do think that some of them are conservatives, who are (temporarily?) drunk for some reason. But for a conservative site, there certainly are a lot of them.
