Katie Couric certainly has chutzpah. On Thursday's Today, beating Democratic operatives to the punch, Couric reminded viewers of Arnold Schwarzenegger's "baggage," from "smoking marijuana" to "using steroids during his body-building career" to being "the son of a Nazi Party member" to "allegations" that he's "sexually harassed women and committed infidelity."
But on Monday morning, she dared to scold Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Simon as she cited a newspaper report about how a Simon strategist promised to spotlight "the actor's raunchy past and liberal social views." Couric then demanded: "How dirty will you get?"
So far, not as dirty as Couric was last Thursday.
Couric's "question" in full, on the August 7 Today, to Democratic strategist Darry Sragow: "Let me ask you about his, his baggage, if you will. He's admitted smoking marijuana, using steroids during his body-building career. He's the son of a Nazi Party member. He said he was prejudiced before overcoming those feelings by working with the Simon Weisenthal Center in Los Angeles and the Dean of the Center said an investigation of Schwarzenegger's late father, conducted at the actor's request, found no evidence of war crimes. Through his publicist he's denied allegations published in Premiere magazine in March 2001, that he sexually harassed women and committed infidelity. All those things, are they gonna be front and center, Darry, if you, do you think in this campaign?"

Fast forward to this morning, August 10, and she demanded of Simon who appeared via satellite: "According to the Daily News, a Simon strategist -- New York Daily News, it says a Simon strategist said, 'His lagging campaign plans to win by stirring up the base, spotlighting the actor's raunchy past and liberal social views,' meaning Arnold Schwarzenegger. How dirty will you get?"
Simon assured her he would not employ any dirty tactics.

I saw a photo of her running with her new love in a warm-up, tennis shoes, and a string of pearls. What's wrong with this picture?

Katie Couric certainly has chutzpah. On Thursday's Today, beating Democratic operatives to the punch, Couric reminded viewers of Arnold Schwarzenegger's "baggage," from "smoking marijuana"Which would make him acceptable to DemonRATS for a Supreme Court justice or candidate for President...
to "using steroids during his body-building career"
I'm not sure, but I don't believe that was illegal at the time, and it wouldn't suprise me if it were under the care of a physician
to being "the son of a Nazi Party member"
OOPS! For DemonRATS you can't be the son of a NAZI party member, but if her were a former KKK Grand Weasel, he'd be OK to be their "elder statesman" in the Senate
to "allegations" that he's "sexually harassed women and committed infidelity."
Well, that would qualify him to be President... I think more than anything else, Katie's just upset that Arnold isn't running as a DemonRAT!

"smoking marijuana" to "using steroids during his body-building career" That's a problem in California? He sounds like a shoo-in to me.

The really depressing thing about Couric and other high-rofile media activists is that they supposedly represent the cultural and intellectual elite yet, they are as simple-minded and predictable as medieval peasants.
Not psychic, but saw it coming
I mean this literally. Couric's statement about "baggage" precisely summarizes and validates the mentality of the witch-hunter: that an accusation alone can be legitimately regarded as proof of guilt.

They started out with "He's got family memebers who are nazi's". Simple answer back. Arnold should not be penalized if his Wife's grandfather loved the nazi's, so what if he was a nazi sympathizer. Do you have a problem with Ted Kennedy, or JFK because of it?

It should be noted that while Arnold's father was a Nazi, his wife's grandfather was also a huge nazi supporter, and sympathized with them, to the point of almost hoping (if not openly) that Nazism would come to america.

I'm so kornfuse-d-ed!!
Liberals worship socialism, which is akin to communism, which was the basis for nazism, which is practiced by whoever is their favorite dictator today, which contain goals set by the demonrat socialists party, led by their favorite impeach-ed-ness or spouse politician, but is used as a slur by the AM muck instigators toward a hollywood megastar, married to a Kennedy/Shriver, to fix an economy destroyed by liberalism?
It's Miller time, f'e'r sure...
