I don't live in California, and I am pretty ambivilent about the Arnold candidacy. He's a liberal hump, but he's as far right as any candidate could get and still have a chance at getting elected in that state. Believe me, I lived in both Pataki's NY and Whitman's NJ, so I know of what I speak.
But, I just want to thank California, on behalf of a greatful nation, for coming up with such an wacky free-for-all election spectacle. A porn actress, the Terminator, Zsa-Zsa Huffington, "What you talkin' bout Willis," Larry Flynt, Gallagher, etc. This show rocks!
Of course, after you gave us all OJ, Peterson, and Kobe, you owed us big time.

I've been developing a list of folks I won't talk to any more because they hate Bush, they hate Schwarzenegger, and by extension hate me, too.
It's really short, but will grow in the weeks to come. Click my name....

If for no other reason, Arnold should be elected for what he has already accomplished in just a matter of days. Since he announced I haven't seen any news about Kobe Bryant. None of the other candidates could accomplish that.

I don't disagree with you at all. I think the constitution should remain unchanged, but political dogma is dangerous always. No two situations are the same. At the moment, I think conservatives, of which I am one, should learn to take yes for an answer. We are winning, not losing.

"Michael Medved thinks Prop 187 was a bad idea and drivers licenses for illegal aliens is a good idea. I don't care what he thinks about this election." Well then we know from what direction Medved comes from...the left! Only 57 days 'til we DUMP DAVIS! And we still haven't heard what Aunold would do if elected. Only one candidate has a solution to balance the budget and does so without raising taxes and/or fees. VOTE 4 MCCLINTOCK!

You really think so, ElkGroveDan? I was holding up a sign at the debate rally downtown before the last election which said "Joe Davis warchest: $35 million, CA deficit: $20 billion" and nobody cared a speck about it. The deficit meant nothing to all the brainwashed nuts. Now it matters because, as Simon predicted, after the election people will feel the pinch. Unless Davis can come up with something so offensive against Arnold that people are horrified and turn away from him in droves, I don't know what Davis can say.

Say anything negative about Wacko Kalifornistan, and they'll tell you to MYOB.
And it's funny how many of them rag on Hillary and NY.

MSNBC took a straw poll on their website this morning, then pulled it when over 70% of respondents said Arnie would win. The next candidate was in the middle single digits.
Let's not pull a Bob Dole, choosing the only person on the planet who could have lost to Bill Clinton in 1996--in the California case by splitting the Republican vote with those that have no chance of picking up crossover voters.
Policy differences can be worked out after victory.

I live in CA and will vote for one of the 4 major GOP candidates. I'm not sure which one yet. Probably McClintock. I'm hoping 2-3 of them will drop out soon.
To: chachacha
Arnold can't repeal Roe v. Wade.
To: chachacha
Or rather, the Governor of CA can't repeal Roe v. Wade, so Arnold's pro-abortion position will not make much difference.
To: kellynla
Good post. Read his qualifications. He appears to be well-experienced more so than Termite the Terminator.
To: All
I think it's ridiculous to say that Arnold is for things that "social conservatives" are against. He's also been accused of being "anti-church" and "anti-family". Those are some rather hyperbolic accusations against someone who gave $2 million in charity to the Catholic church in 2001 alone.
I really doubt any of these "pro-church" snipers have matched his tithings.
And I guess all his work with foster children and the Special Olympics is what you "pro-family" "social conservatives" have a problem with.
Alas, Arnold is such a liberal he supported proposition 187.
I'm still trying to figure out why people here think Cruz Bustamante is more conservative and more worthy of election than Arnold. After all, its going to be one or the other (Simon kills any chance McClintock had), so take you pick.
