If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious
and this is her reply
A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years
but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen

I pray to GOD that this little guy will make it and have a wonderful life. I knew a lady from a past job that had a girl that was 1lb 12oz. She was very protective of her but finally brought her into our work for everyone to see when she was 1 year old. She was perfectly healthy. Prayers that Logan's story will be the same.

"Prayer bump for Logan. (Did I understand correctly that he's lost weight?) "
All babies lose a little weight after they are born. It's good if they can regain it within a couple weeks after they are born. I'm sure it's a little different though when they are born this young. I think they usually eat with a feeding tube rather than being nursed or bottle fed. Him kicking and reacting to mommy sounds like he's got strength!

Boy, that brings back memories. I had twin boys born at 24 weeks. My firstborn, Aaron, weighed 1 lb 4 ozs and my second, Ryan, weighed 15.5 ozs at birth. Aaron didn't make it and went to be with the Lord 5 days after his birth. Ryan is now 4 years old and is all boy. He has had little physical effects from being so early and he will be starting pre-k in a few weeks (man, time fly's). The stay in the NICU is long, but there is an end to the tunnel, and by God's power and grace, these little little ones can do well. He is in control.
Peace.
