Simon needs to back out and endorse Tom. Issa needs to endorse Tom.

Yep.

They would vote for the president of NAMBLA if he had an "R" next to his name and was leading in the polls.

..."Well I don't agree R-Child Mole on social issues, I'm more of a conservative than anybody on here-just so ya know-but Mole is a "fiscal conservative" and everyone else is just a loser anyways."

I understand your statement, but so far I found no other party that fits with conservatives(fiscal and social). It would mean giving up principle to vote for them. Arnold is trying to do what the social conservatives did change the party from the inside(actually hold the party from going to the left). I only see an old time democrat of maybe 20 years ago.

Strike one against Arnold.

One? If that is your only problem with Mr. government daycare you don't get out much.

I am actually very disappointed. I really thought Arnold was an economic conservative. Warren Buffett by all accounts is a liberal, for god sakes he has been on record as wanting Hillary to be president. I'm off the Arnold bandwagon

Gray Davis was not recalled because of his views on abortion. I don't like it, but the majority of people in this state are pro-choice. It's not the issue these candidates will run on.

You call Gray Davis pro-choice? I don't. he signed laws that force hospitals, pharmacists, and med students to participate in abortions. You call that pro-choice? And the majority of Californians are against the fact that Planned parenthood can perform abortions on teenage girls without their parents knowledge.

From a recent CA Field Poll........... for what it's worth.

Field Poll Looks At Abortion Issues

A poll released today says about two-thirds of California voters want to see existing abortion laws left alone or made easier to get.

The Field Poll released this morning says that 30 years after the Supreme Court's landmark abortion ruling, nearly half of California voters want no changes in the existing law.

Another 21 percent would like to see abortion laws relaxed.

In 1991, 33 percent of those polled supported making abortions easier to obtain. Conversely, 22 percent of voters wanted to make abortions tougher to get when polled in 1991, compared with 26 percent in the newest poll.

The breakdown along party lines showed 25 percent of Democrats polled said they would like to see abortions made easier to obtain, compared with eight percent of Republicans who responded.

Of those polled, 47 percent of Republicans felt abortions should be harder to obtain, compared with 15 percent of Democrats.

I never vote for the lesser of two evils. I don't vote for evil.

Not true. EVERY TIME YOU VOTE for a fallen mortal, you vote for the lesser of two evils. At best.

Some alliances are already being talked about......

Candidates may join forces

Huffington, Camejo consider an alliance to appeal to progressives

By Herbert A. Sample -- Bee San Francisco Bureau

OAKLAND -- Convinced that the Oct. 7 recall election offers the best shot ever for progressives to win the governorship, independent Arianna Huffington and Green Party activist Peter Camejo are strongly considering an alliance in which one would drop out late in the race if the other has a real chance of winning.

Listen, it'd be better if I went on and on and explained all my process in thinking on this, maybe. But instead, let me put it this way.

You've made a good case (and far more could be said) that Schwarzetc. isn't ideologically the governor we'd dream of having.

That IS NOT the same as saying he's not the man we should support.

Put it one more way. IF THE POLLS HOLD anything like they are now, there are two men who might win the office. One is Bustamonte, a Democrat. The other is Schwarzetc., a Republican.

Which one EVEN might be EVEN a little better than the other?

One last way.

Presidential election coming up, and statewide elections as well. Would it be better for the GOP to have a newly-elected Demo as Governor, or a Republican?

Honest answers?

Dan

Arnold is the cruelest joke played on the GOP in a long time.

What's next? Ed Asner as campaign chairman?

*sign* please think this through. Are you anticipating AS in being able to solve the crisis? Would he be better than Cruz... absolutely? Will he know how to fix the web of deceit and corruption? Not a chance if he's choosing buffoons like Buffet to be his Econ Advisor (laugh).

So where does this leave the GOP? Momentum? Consensus? Nope. Total disaster, that's where. This is the Republicans getting "their guy" and blowing it, on an epic scale. It doesn't even have to be that the debt grows from -$38.2, AS could veto every spending increase and it stablizes, but stabalizes isn't good enough as I've demonstrated (LOANS) and he will get the lion's share of the blame.

A better question is, when AS can't fix it, do you HONESTLY expect the media to cover it fairly?

Warren Rudman is not a good person for Arnold either - and if Arnold expects conservatives to vote for him - then Buffet was not a good move.

LOL! Funniest thing I've read today!

Yep, it is a fact of life that the best comedy is based on truth. Especially the truth of the fact that Ayn Randians try to deny that Ayn Rand would not hold Warren Buffett in high regard.

But they agree on WHAT? A broken clock is right twice a day. It's very possible that some of his suggestions for making CA more business-friendly or fixing its credit/bond rating or its energy problems are perfectly reasonable and good public policy. We'll see what his plan is in about 2-3 weeks. We'll know then.
