Note to Arnie-bots: If Arnold is a "Fiscal Conservative", so is Howard Dean
Various | August 13, 2003 | nwrep

The self-delusion of some star-struck conservatives here is stunning. In the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, they insisted Arnold was a fiscal conservative, just because he said so. This arrogant proclamation, with no evidence to back it up, was enough for these Arnold-bots.

Then today, he dropped a bomb-shell and declared tax-loving, Hillary Clinton supporter Warren Buffett as his economic advisor. When faced with such repudiation of their fantasy, one expects most people to concede their mistake. But not the Arnie-bots. They still insist Arnold is a conservative, just because he has chosen a billionaire to head his economic team. Apparently, to these Arnie-bots, conservatism is a hollow concept, to be equated with the acquisition of wealth. Never mind that some of the most prominent backers of the anti-capitalist, anti-American, anti-conservative group Moveon.org are self-made billionaires.

This mental capitulation to a Hollywood celebrity reminds me of grandmothers from Florida visiting Hollywood's Rodeo Drive and becoming speechless with awe and admiration at the ostentatious display of wealth there.

Before these Freepers go too far and over the cliff in their fanatical devotion to Arnie Kennedy Jr., they would do well to acquaint themselves of some important positions of Warren Buffett:

Warren Buffett Picks Hillary for Senator

Warren Buffett Slams Dividend Tax Cut

Warren Buffett's Stupid Economics

Is Buffett Hazardous To Your Wealth?

Warren Buffett Despises Nuclear Weapons

Warren Buffett Opposes Estate Tax Repeal

So, now that there is more sobering evidence to the contrary, will these Arnie supporters bow to reason and back a real conservative, like Tom McClintock? One can only hope.

Or they would be left, with the logical extension of their trust in words and not deeds, in the unenviable position of defending the fiscal conservatism of one Howard Dean, Jr.

Look mister! You're not from California! Don't you know conservatives in that state have been asleep at the switch for 20 years and couldn't get a conservative elected as electric chair tester? The RINObots don't want your opinion!

So which part of California do you live? OH I see. You don't live in CA or have you ever lived there? Do you have any links to CA? Why are you so emotional about CA politics?

How about taking care of your leftist politics in Oregon. I notice your way of voting is through mail in ONLY. How about working on changing that system so we help eliminate the democrat FRAUD in Oregon?

Buffett was brought aboard to help pull California bonds out of junk status.

He's also a recognizable name with broad appeal.

Arnold wants a mandate to change the landscape.

This conservative is voting for Arnold

Last week Arnold declared his candidacy for governor of California. I was broadcasting at the time, immediately endorsed him, and immediately began to receive a steady flow of mail from Tom McClintock and Bill Simon fans. Tom and Bill are fine guys, and both have been my guests on countless occasions. I endorsed Bill over Dick Riordan last March and stand by that choice. When it comes to elections, I am a single-issue voter: I support the most conservative candidate who has the most realistic chance of winning.

............

Time for the purists to check their passion at the door and focus on winning. A governor with whom I agree 75 percent of the time – or even 60 percent of the time – is far, far better than a governor with whom I never agree.

A vote for Tom McClintock, Bill Simon or Peter Ueberroth is a vote for Cruz Bustamante.

It really is that simple.

When any pol tells yout that he's a social liberal and a fiscal conservative guess which takes the backseat when they govern? The two philosophies are not compatable at any level. A social liberal will want to enact programs to meet their vision of things. That involves spending money that most times they don't have to begin with and raising taxes to cover the shortfall in the budget. In no way is that fiscally conservative.

LOL!! Another couple of flaming liberals, huh?

Arnold wants input from all sides, it seems.

I haven't lived there, but have family there. Anyway, can't I have an opinion without living there? Is this like the people who said you cannot support war because you have not been in one?
