""Thank you! Thank you, America!" many cried....."

On PBS' Lehrer Report, a Liberian got his face into the screen and yelled "....thank you George Bush!"

Where to begin?

First of all, I was commenting on your attitude. If you can't find something inspirational about what our soldiers did for those people, there's something wrong with you.

Second: you're right. We seem to be almost everywhere in the world. Get used to it. If you're voting for Bush next time around, there's going to be more. That's the plan. He's trying to do something about terrorism and dangerous, unfriendly countries developing nuclear weapons.

Third: If you have something against humanitarian aid, there's something wrong with you.

Fourth: "an exercise in symbolism" ..Yes. It's called the United States of America. Take a look at the flag in one of the pics above. The White House is trying to do what they think is best. There are no guarantees. However, EVERYONE in that country, will not have ill-will toward the U.S. A little optimism, please. I think our Marines would appreciate it.

Last week, when either MSNBC or CNN announced that 7 Marines were going in,( to assess the situation) the male anchor asked the reporter-" Is this a peacekeeping force?"

". Rumsfeld should then gather the U.S. Marines back on the boats and quietly slip away before the Black Congressional Caucus realizes whats happening."

They probably couldn't find Liberia on a map.

Come on, you know that congresswoman can find it, it's where that astronaut planted the flag.

>> "100 marines poured into the country? Wow."

100 US Marines is the equivalent of several thousand of any other nations troops.

>> "Hey, I'll bet we end up helping the Liberians as much as we helped the Somalis or Haitians! Wasn't that uplifting and thrilling?"

Different President = different results.

Think of the future man, not the past.

Our soldiers must be very hot in their uniform. 100% humidity, temps in 90's. It's still rainy season too.

Thanks for the pics.

I'd take 90-degree Liberia overt 130-degree Iraq...
