It would seem that the nature of climatic change is indeed taking on a resemblance to Stephen Jay Gould's puncutated equilibrium model - periods of relative quiet interspersed with rapid, often catastrophic events that drive the changes themselves.I totally agree. And another major shift could come with blinding speed, leading panytwaist liberals to scream and whine and cry for Mommy Government to save them.
I'll be okay (relatively) as long as I can find a nice warm water port or two for my sailboat. Perhaps it will be in Iceland, perhaps it will be in Brazil.

So is Hudson Bay still "fresher" water than the rest of the ocean?

did anyone else note the absence of the keywords 'global warming' as the mechanism that caused the melting of the ice sheet that created the lake.
Or note the absence of "human actions" as the cause of global warming?

Don't know about Hudson Bay, but Chesapeake Bay, fed by the Potomac, Patapsco, and Susquehanna Rivers, is on average less salty than the big water. Something like that figures to happen in any inlet with lots of fresh water feeding it.

Between huge meteorites, volcanoes, bursting ice dams, and that gigantic bubble of hydrogen sulfide that is said to have come gurgling out of the ocean, it's amazing that there's any life on earth. The one disaster still waiting to happen is when Hillary peals off her pantsuit and releases all those toxic vapors into the atmosphere.

Become part of aboriginal American folklore The ones who were here then are all gone. Possibly killed and eaten by newcomers.

The one disaster still waiting to happen is when Hillary peals off her pantsuit and releases all those toxic vapors into the atmosphere. If she wants more money, let her have it. If she wants political power, tell her to "Let 'er rip!" I'm ready to die.

Nothing like a little context to put things in perspective. This chart, displayed at finer resolution, would exhibit substantial spiking in both directions just prior to the onset of a glacial cycle. Bedwetting lib 'RATs in their ignorance and arrogance just don't get that the Sun's output is the single greatest input to the global climate engine. The effects of Man and his works are as cow farts compared to that. Lib 'RATs ignore the facts and cook the books to suit their political agendas.

"was this great flood of noah's time..." Tell me when was 'Noah's time' and I can probably answer that question.

Here is a worldwide map of the oceans with the water level reduced by about 300 feet. There is a debate whether the oceans were reduced by 300 or 500 feet with most accepting 400 feet. On the map notice there is no Persian Gulf, the Red Sea is land locked and the Mediterranean is in three sections. Now, imagine the water lowered by 500 feet.

Another great lake in the Utah/Idaho/Nevada area was Lake Bonneville (
Where was Lake Bonneville, how large was it, and when did it exist?)
Lake Bonneville was a large, ancient lake that existed from about 32 to 14 thousand years ago. It occupied the lowest, closed depression in the eastern Great Basin and at its largest extent covered about 20,000 square miles of western Utah and smaller portions of eastern Nevada and southern Idaho.
